Palm Desert, California, located in the Coachella Valley, has a rich history that traces back to its early settlement as part of the Cahuilla Indian homeland.

Originally known as the Old MacDonald Ranch in the 1920s, the area remained sparsely populated until the post-World War II boom. In the 1940s, developers saw the region’s potential, transforming it into a desert oasis for tourists and retirees.

Lee Mills Joins PS Phil as New Executive Director

The Palm Springs Friends of Philharmonic (PS Phil) is proud to present its 51st season with five incredible orchestras at the McCallum Theatre. This marks the first full season with the PS Phil’s new Executive Director, Lee Mills, who joined the organization this past February.

Mills is an orchestra conductor who has led concerts with some of the most prominent orchestras in the world including Chicago Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, and the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. He is also currently the Music Director of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra in Greenville, South Carolina.

They may share career path stories, networking, introduction and handshake tips in a positive, constructive way. This program helps our next generation build their contact list and prepare them for the workforce.
