Please do not enter or exit the stands while a band is performing. If you need to enter or exit, please do so while the band is setting up their equipment or exiting the field.
Please show your support by applauding and cheering all the bands, regardless of school. Cheering or applause is appropriate after a solo or when the band or color guard achieves a particularly striking effect. All of the students have worked hard and are excited to perform for an audience who appreciates what they do. Please refrain from making critical remarks about other schools, students or performances.
Noisemakers (cowbells, shakers, etc…) are fine before and after a performance, but please do not use them during the performance. They may be distracting to the performers and could even affect a band’s score if a judge is unable to hear the music. Airhorns are not permitted at any time, and disruptive patrons will be asked to leave.
Please do not talk during performances, even at Concessions. Turn cell phones to a silent setting, and only make or receive calls between performances. Please be respectful of others’ desire to see their student perform.
Please do not allow young children to play in the stands. For their safety and the courtesy to others, they should not be allowed to run up and down the steps or rows.
Please do not obstruct the view of others in the stands. Please avoid standing in front of others trying to watch the show. If you have a banner or sign to display, try to do so from the top of the stands or from somewhere that is not obtrusive.
Don’t be afraid to tell a band member they did a great job, even if you don’t know them. You’ll be surprised at how good it makes them feel when they’ve made an impression on the audience.
