Surveyor Amy Hopkins, PLS, Installed as PSLS’ First Woman President At the September 10th virtual meeting of the PSLS Board of Directors, President Jonathan Tabas, PE, PLS, “passed the gavel” and installed Amy Hopkins, PLS, as PSLS’ first woman president for the rest of 2020 and all of 2021. Amy is the owner of Urban Terrain LLC, a land surveying company located in Murrysville, PA. She began her surveying career as a Geodetic Surveyor in the United States Marine Corp and served with the Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Intelligence Group at Camp Lejeune, NC and Okinawa, Japan. Having joined PSLS in March of 2005, Amy has served as chair of the Public Relations Committee, member of the Membership Committee, and on the Executive Committee for four years. Amy is licensed in both Pennsylvania and New York and was the PSLS 2015 Surveyor of the Year. Since being appointed by Governor Wolf, Jonathan resigned as President in order to assume duties on the PA State Registration Board for Engineers, Surveyors, and Geologists. Congratulations to both Amy and Jonathan on your new roles!
