I would like to begin by giving you a quarterly update on the chapter operations. Our chapter has begun 2023 strong and we have important business to manage this year 2023 will mark the end of our 2021-2023 strategic plan We have begun checking in with stakeholders to ensure we are meeting our goals for the plan As we enter the second half of 2023, we will begin to ask for input from sorors for our next strategic plan. Please gather your suggestions as we plan to enhance Psi Pi Omega for the future The Standards Committee is gathering a plan to ensure all documents required to be stored in our office365 accounts are downloaded in the appropriate folders. I would like to ensure we are prepared and not rushing to download information when we are due for an evaluation Please review the bylaws and bring your suggestions to the bylaws committee and committee chairmen we look to update our bylaws in 2023 Be mindful of the deadlines that will be set to ensure we complete the tasks on time. The Standards and Archives committee will work together to begin shredding old documents and purging to make room in our storage unit They will follow the standards guidelines to reference the timelines we need to keep documents and when the documents should be discarded. Lastly, if you are a committee chairman and have not held a committee meeting in 2023, please do so as soon as possible I appreciate all your efforts as we move the business of Psi Pi Omega

This is the time of year that we begin to clean up things around us, start anew, travel, smell the flowers blooming, working in our yards, and checking in on our goals that we set in the beginning of the year Spring is the time of year that dormant plants begin to grow again, new seedings sprout out the ground, and hibernating animals wake. In the perspective of sorors, if you have been hibernating or dormant, I challenge you to sprout and began to grow again this spring Our chapter needs you We need your fresh ideas, your vibrant spirit, and your dedication to the work of Psi Pi Omega

Please remember to spread Random Acts of Sisterliness. This offers an opportunity for members to share random acts of care and compassion You can do this privately or share with the chapter I ask that you engage with members you typically do not engage with and continue to get to know each other outside of chapter meetings and programs.

Madam Supreme Basileus, Danette Anthony Reed, sent an email to remind us of our story “Alpha Kappa Alpha” A Legacy of Service is appearing on PBS Stations The story chronicles our 115-year history as the oldest Greek letter organization established by Black college women. Check your local PBS listings for dates and times. Have a safe and blessed month of March and I look forward to seeing you all at our March events

Sisterly,

Soror Tamika Crews Slack “Leading in EXCELLENCE”
