REUSABLE BAG PROGRAM 2
About the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program
In the 8 years since the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program launched, the Community and Fight Hunger Bag Programs have built a strong connection between Hannaford and the communities it calls home. With more than $2 million donated across 5,600 unique nonprofits, the lasting impact of this program is undeniable. What began as a donation from the purchase of a Community or Fight Hunger Bag has created a network of support for a variety of civic, education, hunger relief, health and wellness and military and veteran organizations. The program continues to grow, with 2022 producing the highest yearly sales in program history.

2022 Program Highlights
Highest Month of Sales in Program History
Once Community and Fight Hunger bags came back in stock at the start of 2022, after months of being OOS, the PSIM team took steps to ensure that stores were prepared. Every store was called informing them that the warehouse was stocked up, which resulted in the highest month of sales in program history in February.
Nonprofit Database Fully Optimized
In anticipation of the surge in sales of restocked bags, the team combed through the entire Hannaford database of 6,000 nonprofits to ensure that all nonprofits were engaged and active and that every store was matched with the best possible nonprofits in its local area.
New Program Website
In the latter half of 2022, the new Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program website launched. In addition to new tools and resources for selected nonprofits, the new site offers an insight into the organizations that have benefited from the program. These Impact Stories feature interviews with nonprofits to learn how the Program fits into their larger fundraising strategy and how funds earned are used to support their mission.
2023 Forecast
This forecast was determined based on 2022 actual sales plus 10% to account for continued growth as the program develops year over year. Months during and immediately after bags were OOS were replaced by the 2022 monthly average as to not skew the final forecast.
2022 ANNUAL REPORT 5

The following is excerpted from the Impact Story “Transforming the lives of children, their families and entire communities..” interview with Mark McGuire, Director of Marketing and Communications of Make-A-Wish Northeast New York.
We appreciate Hannaford, and we appreciate its customers. When they participate in this program, they have a direct relationship to wishes and to bringing hope, strength and joy to a child and their family. They’re playing an active role in a really transformative experience for a child right here in our local community. We could not be more grateful to both Hannaford and its shoppers for what you’re doing for our wish kids and their families. When Hannaford shoppers pick up a bag, while it may seem like a nice little thing, it has a powerful ripple effect. It will impact our ability to grant a wish. And that one wish will affect not only one child but also their family, their school and even their entire community. And it started with one person picking up one bag, and that child’s life will be forever transformed by that wish.
Thank you to Hannaford and Hannaford shoppers; you are truly making a difference in the lives of our wish kids.
