Kate Armitage Event Host GREENFLEET

Chris Ashley Head of Policy RHA

Specialising in Electric Vehicles, Recharging Infrastructure and Energy, Kate was the first recipient of the GREENFLEET EV Champion Award in 2014 and has been a strong advocate of the electrification of transport since 2010, heading up the EV Team at EDF Energy, and subsequently as Projects Director at Route Monkey.

Kate is an Associate for Delta-ee, providing insight and consultancy support for their Electric Vehicles & Electricity Service.

Chris joined the RHA in September 2019 to lead its environment policy work. He is actively engaged in shaping the net zero agenda to deliver sustainable outcomes for commercial vehicle operators and, in particular, small businesses.

Previously, he was a civil servant for 18 years – predominantly at the Home Office developing policies to reduce offending by heroin and cocaine addicts and to address domestic abuse. Together with a family background in haulage, he brings extensive experience and insight into how central and local government decision-making, policymaking and Parliament works at the highest levels.

Sukky Choongh graduated from Kings College London in 2010 with an MSc in Environmental Health. She joined SMMT in July 2017 as Environmental Manager for Air Quality and Ultra Low Emission Vehicles. Working with government bodies and cities across the UK, Sukky supports their ambitions for the increased uptake of ultra-low emissions vehicles and air quality improvement strategies.

Ed Thomson is Head of Zero Emission Acceleration at Transport Scotland. He has more than 20 years experience working in for Scottish and UK Government in economic development, innovation and international relations. He currently leads initiatives to accelerate the transition to net-zero transport systems, focusing on heavyduty vehicles and the development of a just transition to zero-emission transport technology. Ed works to position Scotland as a global leader in sustainable mobility, supporting collaboration between industry, research, and international partners to deliver practical solutions for transport decarbonisation.

Ylva Haglund is Head of Sustainability & Communications at the Scottish Wholesale Association, the trade body for Scotland’s food and drink wholesale sector. In this role, she leads on environmental initiatives, with a strong emphasis on transport decarbonisation and sustainable practices across the industry.

With two decades of experience spanning the charity, public, and business sectors, Ylva has built a career focused on environmental campaigns and sustainable food systems.
