Welcome to GREENFLEET focus TELEMATICS New for GREENFLEET events 2022 is our series of six Focus webinars. Every two months, each online mini event will drill down to the important topics in a sector that has seen the uptake of electric vehicles reach record numbers and with strong growth in the sale of EVs expected year-on-year, attention now turns to the feasibility of EV use.

SPEAKER profiles KATE ARMITAGE Event Host Kate specialises in Electric Vehicles, Recharging Infrastructure and Energy Retailing and was the first recipient of the GREENFLEET EV Champion Award in 2014.

She has been a strong advocate of the electrification of transport since 2010, heading up the EV Team at EDF Energy, and subsequently as Projects Director at Route Monkey. Kate is an Associate for Delta-ee, providing insight and consultancy support for their Electric Vehicles & Electricity Service.

Kate has been involved in a range of ground-breaking projects including the design and technical specification of the recharging infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympic Electric Vehicle Fleet.

She has worked closely with OEMs, Infrastructure providers and Energy Companies across Europe.

OWAIN PEARCE Transport Manager, Oxford Direct Services

Owain worked in waste management and fleet support up until 2011 and in 2014 became a Fleet Technical Officer.

He joined Oxford Direct Services (a Tekal company owned by Oxford City Council) as Transport Manager when it was formed in 2018 and over the last 6 years has been passionate about improving ODS’s Motor Transport service through overseeing a new fleet management system, improving fleet policies and practices and significantly improving the composition of electric vehicles within the fleet.

Owain graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Environmental Science in 2001 followed by a Masters in Primate Conservation in 2003.

Colin Ferguson is co-founder and CEO of The Algorithm People, which provides a unique, evidenced-based approach to fleet electrification.

The company uses advanced technology to identify, which of a fleet’s vehicles are best suited to electrification and where infrastructure should be ideally located, thus encouraging the uptake of electric vehicles.
