Summer Challenge

Preparing for Secondary

Bohunt library is passionate about reading books We believe that developing reading skills through a love of literature is important for progress in all subjects Through reading regularly, students are exposed to language being used creatively, imaginatively and accurately They start to appreciate how character, mood and setting play an important part in their emotional engagement with any text; they begin to see how writers create the magic that they can aspire to themselves in their own writing. Without reading, there is no good writing therefore at Bohunt we encourage and support reading as the foundation to all future learning.

Next year, students will encounter a range of texts In order to best prepare for this, we have a suggested reading list of exciting and riveting titles, which we are sure will capture the imagination and interest so you are ready to take up the mantle in Year 7

We would like to challenge you to read five books and have a think about ones you would like to add to the list. Write a brief review, bring it to the library and earn your first ERA award What a great way to start your reading journey at Bohunt
