Technology offers us a unique opportunity to enhance students’ learning and their enjoyment of learning. The availability of digital devices and tools gives students choice over how they learn, access to high quality support and extends learning beyond the classroom. With students only spending 20% of their time at school the connection between school and home is critical.
iPads allow students access to their work and learning wherever they are They also support the development of creativity, independence, resilience, teamwork and challenge through personalised, student focused, digital tools and choices. Research shows gains in engagement, collaboration, leadership and enquiry skills, as well as learning and progression.
Our vision is that every child will have access to an iPad for their sole use both at home every evening, during the holidays and at school, to ensure they can learn at any time and, when appropriate, in ways that suit them.

How much do I need to contribute?
● Payments can be a one off or spread over 24 or 36 months

How long can I spread the payments over?
Payments can be a one off or spread over a maximum of 36 months depending on how long your child has left at the school and also the length of the insurance cover chosen.
What happens at the end of the agreement?
At the end of the agreement, if all payments have been made the device becomes yours.
Will there be any credit checks?
No, there are no credit checks.
What happens if I can’t make the regular payment?
No child will be excluded from the scheme because of their financial circumstances so please contact your school. If your child is in receipt of free school meals please contact your school.
What happens if I miss a payment or can no longer afford the device?
If you miss a payment, EduTech will contact you to provide assistance. Should you no longer be able to afford the device, please contact your school who will be able to discuss with you the various options available
Will we need to buy any other equipment?
Ideally every student should have access to the Internet at home. As a school we will never ask you directly to purchase Apps. All Apps required by students within lessons will be provided.
What if my child leaves the school?
You must return the device to the school or alternatively pay the outstanding payments to take ownership of the device.
Why can’t the school provide the iPads for free?
The school receives a small amount of funding for IT, which pays for our network, the website, IT suites, printers and software. Equipment for use at home and for personal use by your children is over and above this, which is why we are asking families to contribute to this scheme to allow it to go ahead.
I have already got an iPad at home, can they bring this in?
This is fine as long as it is a 9th generation iPad or newer with a minimum of 64GB of RAM and running iOS 17. The iPad will need to be wiped and our MDM management software installed. We would recommend getting a protective case and a screen protector to minimise the risk of damage Devices would need to be covered by your own private insurance for use in school.
Can they use the device at home?
Yes, the student can use the device to further enhance their learning but we recommend that you use Jamf Parent to control access to the iPad.
