The Retail DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE TESTING “SMART WAREHOUSES�

As part of a $600 million project in 5G experimentation, Smart Warehouses and technologies will be tested at five U.S. military sites to enhance distributed demand and control.

According to Material Handling & Logistics, the project will be focused on transshipment between shore facilities and naval units, to increase efficiency and fidelity of logistic operations.

5G Smart Warehousing will be tested at Naval Base San Diego, California and Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia. The objective is to develop a 5G enabled Smart Warehouse focused on either transshipment or vehicular storage and maintenance, respectively. Overall, the goal is to establish efficient warehousing operations including identification, recording, organization, storage, retrieval, and transportation of material and supplies.

But now, there’s a new trend and it appears that the lines that differentiates between B2B and B2C are blurring.

More and more, we are seeing the trend of manufacturers being aggressively reinventing themselves by selling direct to consumers too! With better technology, communication tools and an evolving distribution business model, manufacturers are willing to jump onto the eCommerce bandwagon.

White Vs. Private Label Clothing Article contributed by Private Label Clothing LLC White label being a newer service in the apparel industry, there is some confusion with private label. Although similar, these are two distinct services with distinct applications.

White label clothing is when a manufacturer produces their own designs in large quantities and leaves all the branding out. They then sell their premade clothing to stores or wholesalers in small quantities and apply their branding. This practice is still rare in the garment industry, most factories are not capable or willing to manufacture inventory. Sure you can find many white label t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats, that sector always operated with a white label business model.

Good luck finding jeans, jackets, dresses or skirts, though. Here in Los Angeles, clothing store owners and buyers seeking other than t-shirts, sweat suits and hats turn to wholesalers and jobbers in the fashion district.
