Scotiabank welcomes new business advisor Laura Sayer brings business experience to local branch

Powell River has always been a community where connection matters. It is a place where relationships grow over time, where local businesses form the foundation of the economy, and where coming home carries real meaning. Today, Scotiabank is proud to welcome home one of its own, Laura Sayer, as its newest business advisor. “We are thrilled to welcome Laura back and into the Scotiabank team,” says branch manager Crista Petri. “Her combination of hometown understanding, strong knowledge of business needs, and genuine passion for helping entrepreneurs succeed makes her an incredible addition to our team. The entire branch is excited for what this means for our business community.” Laura is returning from Ontario, where she expanded her leadership and financial expertise. There, she served as executive director of a major ICI (industrial, commercial and institutional) construction association. The role carried significant responsibility, including financial oversight and operational management of the association. She also worked with the provincial construction association, the ministry of finance and Skilled Trades Ontario. This experience

In the past, I have had the opportunity to work with many businesses

here, helping them with advertising and marketing. “Having been a business owner, I understand the challenges that come with managing operations, finances and planning. My previous experience helps me tailor the goals of each business to their banking needs. I’m looking forward to implementing this knowledge by assisting local businesses.” Even while building a career away from home, Laura says Powell River remained close to her heart.
