To assist in the beautification of the community, a group of volunteers has been going to the grounds around Powell River Recreation Complex to clean debris left by people living OCEAN VIEW

Mark Scott, a member of Westview Ratepayers Society (WRS) and its supportive housing subcommittee, said that he, Carolyn Jackson, also on the subcommittee, and other volunteers have gone out several times to remove items ranging from sharps to tarps that have been left in locations close to where recreation complex-goers transit. Scott said WRS is trying to address avenues for the homeless and addicted and the community at large to move positively forward. “A lot of things aren’t working very well, both for the homeless and for the community,” said Scott. “We have been in to
