A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO What a year! As we look forward to the new season, it is with greater anticipation and excitement than ever…we cannot wait to see our stage alive again with Broadway performances (and more!) …and we want to welcome you, our audiences, back to PPAC to have a great time! To honor our intention of keeping this venue as safe as possible for everyone, we will provide updates as guidance for COVID-19 changes throughout the coming year. For the Taco/The White Family Foundation Broadway Series, our season opens with the national tour of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL followed by the return engagement of HAMILTON. BEST FAÇADE FORWARD! After 93 years, our theatre deserved an updated exterior! New, custom terracotta tiles and exterior lighting were installed over the winter of 2020/2021 and we think the results are beautiful! This project was made possible by PPAC restoration fees and grants from the Champlin Foundation and the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission. The project team included: Brunca Waterproofing Corp. (pre-construction services), Newport Collaborative Architects, Wessling Architects, C.A. Pretzer Associates, Inc. (Structural Engineers), the work was performed by Consigli Construction and lighting is by Evelyn Audet Lighting Design, LLC. NOVEMBER 30 – DECEMBER 12, 2021 HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre—a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education. With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography. ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES: The Arcade, Grand Lobby, and Orchestra Level are fully accessible from the Weybosset Street entrance. An elevator is located on the first floor, and provides access to the Mezzanine Level, and to seating in the First and Second Dress Balconies. Please notify the Box Office in advance to request ADA accessible seating. ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICES are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis in the Grand Lobby across from the entrance of Aisle 5. A driver’s license or credit card will be requested as a security deposit.
