The Next Stop BROADWAY® program, presented by PPAC, will consist of classes, workshops, and rehearsals focused on classic Broadway shows. The week culminates with an “Opening Night” performance for family and friends in the afternoon on August 16, followed by a party for all in the Gallery at The VETS.
Paid registrations are limited to 70 participants (“cast members”), ages 10 – 17 by August 1, 2019 and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. DIRECTIONS TO PPAC:
From points north: take 95S to the Atwells Ave exit 21. Go straight through 4 traffic lights and turn left at the 5th traffic light onto Broad St, which becomes Weybosset St. From points south (take 95N to Point St exit 20) and from points east (take 195W to Point St exit 1A): proceed straight at the traffic light at end of exit onto E Franklin St. At Broad St, turn right at the light (Broad St becomes Weybosset St). PPAC will be on the right side of Weybosset. From Worcester/Western Massachusetts: Take 90E to exit 10A (Worcester/Providence, Route 146/20), which will lead to Route 146S (Providence). Take Route 146S and merge onto 95S in Providence. Then, follow directions for “from points north.”
PPAC SECURITY POLICY:
• Walk-through metal detectors are now used at all performances. Please plan to arrive 30 to 45 minutes prior to curtain time.
• Firearms, weapons, laptops, briefcases, and suitcases are not allowed in the Theatre.
• All bags are subject to search; bags that pass inspection must fit under a theatre seat.
• Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
• There is no secure storage area and confiscated items cannot be returned.
• Providence Police details are on site at all PPAC events.
• PPAC Management reserves the right to change the security policy or implement any security measures required for any performance without prior notice.

HAMILTON is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, as told by America now.
With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton.

PPAC President J.L. “Lynn” Singleton is pleased to announce that the 2019 Annual Gala will include a performance of HAMILTON on Saturday, August 3, followed by a post-show reception.
Gala tickets include prime seating to the Saturday, August 3 evening performance of HAMILTON, exclusive access to the post-show reception, and parking. Contributons to the Annual Gala benefit the Theatre’s Community Outreach Initiative, including its newest program, Experience PPAC Gala tickets are tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law. 2019 ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDS
CEREMONY
Thirty-five talented young Rhode Island artists received ARTS Scholarships Awards during a special ceremony at the Theatre on Wednesday, May 8. PPAC’s ARTS Scholarships program, which is sponsored by Textron Charitable Trust with support from our Annual Fund donors, provides students with the opportunity to attend summer arts educational programs of their choice that helps broaden their experience in a chosen artistic area of study. Each student artist was highlighted in a video profile that was edited and produced by WPRI CBS 12, our Broadway Season media sponsor.
The ceremony was emceed by Board Chairman Joseph W. Walsh, Esq., with additional welcoming remarks from Board Director and Chairperson of the Community Outreach Committee Jo-Ann Ragosta and Marketing Director P.J. Prokop
We were pleased to have three special guests speak at the ceremony: Community Affairs Manager at Textron Karen Warfield, Providence Mayor Jorge O. Elorza, and Brett Cook, a 2001 ARTS Scholarship Recipient and the creator of our ARTS Scholarships Logo.
Three scholarships in loving memory were awarded to young performers who are passionate about the arts, demonstrate great potential, and have applied for an ARTS Scholarship; one from the Keri Anne O’Donnell Memorial Fund, one from the Jessie’s Dream Scholarship Fund, and one from the Desiree Mesolella Art Scholarships.
