Welcome

Dear NHS Inductees,

Congratulations! Meeting the rigorous requirements of the National Honor Society is a significant accomplishment and I am personally very proud of each one of you for earning this honor. It has taken a lot of hard work in academics to get here today and each one of you has shown impeccable character to be considered for this prestigious organization. As a former Providence student myself, I can remember my own NHS induction ceremony back in 2004, and I am so proud to welcome you to the Providence Chapter of the National Honor Society. When potential colleges and employers see that you have earned this honor, it will help set you apart in their eyes and expand the opportunities for your future. As you continue in NHS for your remaining time at Providence, you will become a model of servant leadership as you serve our Providence community in a variety of practical and meaningful ways. I encourage each of you to make wise decisions as you seek to embody the character of a National Honor Society student. I know that your families, friends, and teachers are so proud of you, and we want you to know that we are praying for you and hope that you will use your incredible talents to serve God and grow His kingdom. May God continue to bless each one of you. Sincerely,

Michael Gray, M.Ed High School Principal

from the

National Honor Society President Dear Inductees,

The National Honors Society (NHS) stands upon four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These traits are necessary among great leaders, and each of you has been selected as members because you exemplify these values. The Providence National Honor Society fosters a community of Christ followers who serve others in many ways. Not only do we contribute to our local communities, but also our school community as we live out our school verse, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition... Rather, in humility value others above yourselves”- Philippians 2:3-4. Being a part of this wonderful organization gives each of us the ability to push past our comfort zone and make a meaningful impact on our environment. Whether it’s as simple as helping a teacher in Activity or serving off campus for a different organization, the NHS helps prepare each member to passionately serve. I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities offered by this society and to continually be a light for the Lord as you do. Above all, the most important thing we can do for our NHS is to be faithful servants of the Lord. Through dedication and hard work, we can strive to make great waves in our community while glorifying God in all we do. It is a great privilege to serve you this year as your National Honor Society President. I am excited to work with you and see what we can accomplish together. I know that God has given me a great passion for leadership, and I hope that same fire is ignited in you as you prepare to serve with the NHS this year. Furthermore, I am grateful for this community that is built by our NHS. Real change comes from many people working towards a common goal, and I know that our common goals can be accomplished through our impressive NHS community. Hebrews 10:24-25 states, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together... but encouraging one another.” So, I encourage you to press in and take advantage of the opportunities provided by this community while demonstrating the four pillars. Let God’s light shine through you, be a leader for your fellow classmates, and be bold in your faith. For a great leader is not solely made through demonstrating the four pillars, but also through possessing a great passion for the Lord. Congratulations new inductees, I am excited to see what we can accomplish this year.

OLIVIA CARBERRY NHS President

from the

National Honor Society Officers

STELLA VIZZINI NHS Vice President

Serving as Vice President of the Providence National Honor Society (NHS) this year is an opportunity for which I am deeply grateful. The organization’s four pillars are scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Through these pillars, students strive not only to impact the lives of the underrepresented but also to affect the lives of Providence students and administration. In my position, I hope to build on the foundation NHS provides by demonstrating a fierce love for Christ. The privilege to work alongside such strongminded peers to create a year of blessings for the Jacksonville community is not only an honor, but a responsibility I plan to fulfill. I want the inductees to enjoy the amazing opportunities that are ahead of them, while celebrating the accomplishment of becoming members of a nationally recognized organization.

GABRIELLA VEGA

It is a true honor to serve as the Secretary of the Providence National Honor Society (NHS). This role has taught me to excel in ensuring our members feel informed, included, and prepared to participate in everything NHS has planned this year. I am beyond grateful for the responsibility that comes with this position and the opportunity to play a consequential role in furthering the continued success of NHS. For me, NHS has been an important part in bringing students together for a purpose that is bigger than academics, and I hope to continue advancing its mission. The impact that we make through service reflects inward dedication and Christ’s call to serve others with humility and compassion. Through every act of service, we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ. I am beyond proud of each inductee and offer my deepest congratulations to each of you. May God shine through you as you serve others, help our community, and leave a lasting impact in a way that honors the Lord.

SARA PALMER NHS Treasurer

It is truly a blessing and an honor to serve as your Treasurer for the Providence National Honor Society (NHS) this year. Being an officer has given me opportunities to serve in ways that demonstrate our four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These values represent who I strive to be as I walk with Jesus and follow His example. My role as treasurer has allowed me to assist with funding decisions that benefit both our community and school. These decisions empower NHS members to make a meaningful impact on others. It is an immense blessing to serve in this role, and I could not be prouder of how Providence NHS reflects Christ’s love. I truly believe that the Lord will use each member of NHS for His glory. Congratulations to all inductees for this prominent commendation. My wish is that you will embody our four pillars, creating a memorable legacy of NHS. I am eager to work with you all this upcoming year and encourage every member to step into this new opportunity with a humble spirit that embraces servant leadership.

NHS Secretary

MILLER CLINE NHS Chaplain

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the National Honor Society (NHS) Chaplain this year and to help guide our chapter in a way that glorifies and serves the Lord. My prayer is that as we move through the next year, we serve our community and treat others with dignity and respect, reflecting the light of Christ in all we do. Our goal, not just as members of NHS, but as followers of Christ should be to shine the light of His glory into the darkest parts of the world. Mark 10:43 reminds us that “whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,” while 1 Timothy 4:12 points out that we are to “set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” We have the power to change the course of our school, city, country, and world. While service is at the core of the NHS, it is even more at the core of the love that Christ poured out to us on the cross. I cannot wait to see the ways that the Lord uses the Providence NHS chapter to advance His kingdom as we exalt His name through our contribution and kindness toward a hurting world. It is a blessing to serve as one of your National Honor Society Social Media Coordinators this school year. To me, leadership is far more than a title; it is a calling from God to guide others with strong faith and determination. God has instilled in me a passion for leadership, and I look forward to leaning into this opportunity I was given. I am deeply thankful for my fellow officers who continually support and challenge me in all that I do. A huge congratulations to our new inductees. Your hard work has earned you this great achievement, and I am excited to serve alongside you this year as one of your Social Media Coordinators.

LILLIAN HOFFMAN NHS Social Media Coordinator I am blessed to be serving others this year as one of the Providence National Honor Society Social Media Coordinators. Being an officer is not just a title; it is a responsibility to lead others in work ethic and faith. God has drawn me to leadership, wisdom, and passion, and I intend to take this opportunity and grow. My fellow officers have helped me succeed in my endeavors, but they have also pushed me to be better. I would like to say congratulations to the new inductees. Everyone has worked diligently to achieve this honor, and I am grateful and excited to share the next part of this journey with you.
