We’d love to have over half of our ProVision members participating in the World Sight Day Challenge!
Dear Member, As you know, ProVision is a big supporter of Optometry Giving Sight, and many of our practices participate in the World Sight Day Challenge each October. This year we have increased our target, up 25% from last year. We want to have at least 50% of all ProVision members take part in the Challenge! Help reach our target by registering today. The World Sight Day Challenge is the only fundraising campaign in the world that specifically focuses on avoidable blindness due to uncorrected refractive error – simply the need for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. What makes the Challenge so inspiring is that preventable blindness is a solvable problem. You solve it every day in your practices and through the Challenge we can help solve it in third world countries too! In the developing world, access to an eye exam and glasses can mean the difference between a life of poverty, and a life of opportunity. It is proven to be the most cost effective way to lift whole families out of poverty, by restoring independence and enabling people to return to work. The World Sight Day Challenge is based on a concept of ‘people power,’ by donating your exam fees and/or fundraising patient donations, together we have the power to help people in desperate need of eye care. In some countries, as little as $5 can be enough to help provide an eye exam and a pair of glasses. For a recommended donation of $5, the wristbands are a great way for patients to make a truly meaningful contribution and publicly unite in their support for the campaign! Funds raised during the Challenge will ensure Optometry Giving Sight can continue to support eye care projects around the world, including the ProVision Optometry Teams in East Timor and Sumba.
