MCLAREN AND THE EYEWEAR McLaren meeting the Eyewear industry is following this desire to develop and apply new technologies to other industries.

Vision being one of the most important factor for driving and in racing, McLaren is using innovation to explore new ways to think the eyewear product, such as 3D Printing, PVD, MIM or Laser Cutting technologies.

The McLaren Vision collection has been developed in collaboration with some of Europe’s finest exponents of optical creativity. Using the finest premium quality lenses, the pieces are manufactured in France by leading specialists L’Amy Luxe, having more than two centuries of experience in the field of premium eyewear.

The collection distills many of the skills, techniques and principles the brand learned in 50 years of building exquisitely honed supercars into the fine art of optical science, design and indeed fashion.

Whether creating supercars or sunglasses, McLaren always pushes boundaries and challenges norms.

Designers from McLaren and L’Amy Luxe combined their expertise to create unique products that set new standards for elite eyewear.

Shaped by the spirit of luxury performance, McLaren Vision explores innovative technologies to enhance the design, the quality, and the comfort of its unique collection.

COLLECTION This collection combines technology with sport luxury to offer eyewear that is suitable for every attire.

Using industry-first technologies such as 3Dprinted titanium frames, the McLaren Vision Collection epitomizes the design innovation and pioneering technical excellence that is at the core of the McLaren brand’s DNA.

The McLaren Vision collection features 67 models (39 optics 28 sunglasses) spread over 3 ranges of products, all sharing the same vision of refined performance inspired by McLaren lifestyle.

ULTIMATE RANGE : ULTIMATE The pinnacle of the McLaren Vision collection. A world premiere inspired by the first world championship F1 title won by Emerson Fittipaldi with McLaren in 1974. A new segment especially created : Technological luxury.

The structure of the front obtained by 3D printing in titanium guarantees a unique lightness and allows an assembly freeing the lenses of all tensions.

The exclusive titanium lug produced by MIM (Metal Injection Molding) allows180° rotational movement for compact folding when the frame is folded, and a constant pressure on the face when open.

The temples are in thermoplastic elastomer overmolded on a metal wirecore offering unparalleled comfort.

The front faces and the lugs are coated with PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) for a deep and resistant coloring.

This collection, awarded with the « Silmo d’or » in the technological innovation category is made up with 4 optical models and 4 sunglasses.

DESIGN RANGE : GRAPHITE The heart of the McLaren Vision collection.

The Graphite shares the same innovative spirit as the Ultimate collection and incorporates the exclusive 180° rotative lug and the elastomer temples.

The front face is featuring 3D printing technology with PA12 Graphite loaded material, composed of more than 600 layers with a temperature control for each one of them.

This material is 24% lighter than acetate for ultra light fronts, which, when combined with the silicone pads, provides an absolute comfort.

This collection is made up of 9 optical models and 4 sunglasses.

DESIGN RANGE : MS-85 Celebrating the first F1 championship title won by Alain Prost with McLaren in 1985, the MS-85 Series is offering new possibilities for the McLaren Vision collection.

Leaning from it’s predecessor to perfect the range, the MS-85 is completing the rimless series by bringing new elements, for a unique comfort and a perfect outfit.

The hinge is reinforced and integrates a traditional closing and opening mechanic.

The bi-color temple is coming as a brand new element created specifically for series, and offering new color options for the consumer. The adjustable tip allow the frame to suit every faces in every circumstances.

4 optical shapes, in 4 different colors are coming in addition to complete the existing rimless series from the McLaren Vision collection.

DESIGN RANGE : MAGNETIC The Magnetic capsule collection, developed in collaboration with JAM Vision, extends the initial consumer target to a more urban and lifestyle one.

It capitalizes on all the McLaren Vision innovative assets, with addition of eco-responsible concern, and a bit of sport fashion spirit.

Thanks to additive manufacturing of the fronts in PA12, temples laser cut in 100% recycled stainless steel, optimized for a made on demand production, the eco-impact is reduced as much as possible.

To make it perfectly reliable, it embeds a patented magnetic hinge. Requiring only two Neodymium magnetic pieces, this revolutionary hinge provides life lasting friction, with no risk of loosing screws and temples.

4 shapes, 2 optical and 2 sunglasses, each in 4 colors made this co-signed project between JAM Vision and McLaren, celebrating the F1 world championship title won by Alain Prost in 1986.

LIFESTYLE RANGE : OPENMATIC With its urban shapes and its new patented hinge, the Openmatic Series is based on a new approach and a strong will to develop comfortable and stylish sport frames easy to fit in all circumstances.

The exclusive Openmatic hinge incorporates a flexible U-Blade with a 360-degree shock absorber, allowing to open and close the temples automatically by a simple finger pressure.

A new addictive playful feeling of opening the temples in a flash !

The 3D printed PA12 front face only consume material that is strictly necessary, for sustainability concerns.

The recycled stainless steel arched temples are treated with PVD coating for long lasting colors.

Added to its global lightness, it keep the glasses on your face even during the most dynamic use.

The tips of the temples have been designed to be perfectly adjusted, if necessary, to your anatomy without having to heat them.

Including 6 optical and 3 sunglasses, the Openmatic offers a new unique way of thinking, for people looking for that little extra something that makes the product so exclusive.

LIFESTYLE RANGE : DRIVESTYLE The latest lifestyle series from the McLaren Vision collection and its brand new Papaya livery !

A bi-color acetate frame in the famous colors of the brand, with colorful temple tips characteristic of the collection, and a design with lifestyle shapes crossed on both sides by the furrow of a track.

The Drivestyle series is taking off !

The acetate is worked on a specific level in order to bring the McLaren DNA to the collection. The frame is structured by a bi-color acetate in order to bring the unique McLaren papaya color on the inside, and keep a sober and elegant black on the outside.

The characteristic colorful tips from the McLaren vision collection are reproduced in acetate, with a crystal lamination that is separating the temple from the tip design area.

Finally, a specific groove design has been directly carved in the acetate on the front face, reminding the furrow of a track.

Including 4 optical and 3 sunglasses, the Drivestyle series is the perfect fan passion collection, for people that want sober and elegant eyewear products, with an extra touch of McLaren DNA.
