OUR LOCAL LEGEND SINCE 1953 Some of you may even remember Henry (Hank) Horsfall, who was a true pioneer of optometry in Northern Victoria. In 1953 he set up Echuca’s first optometry practice when he rented modest rooms in a butcher shop in High Street. Hank would examine his patients by day and return in the evenings to grind and dispense their spectacles. Some years later, Hank expanded his services to Kyabram, consulting from back room of the local jeweler. From its humble beginnings Horsfalls Optometrists has now grown to 7 optometrists along with 9 dedicated support staff, to become one of the largest optometry practices in rural Victoria. And we remain 100% locally owned and operated. Throughout, the practice has retained the name of its founder, in respect for the legacy of his years of optometric and community service. We remain committed to delivering comprehensive, trusted and tailored vision care with friendly, professional service. Despite the passing of Hank Horsfall in 2012 at the age of 90, Horsfalls Optometrists continues to be synonymous with providing professional eye care to the people of Northern Victoria.
