SUNNY DAY: The wedding of Karoline and Andrew Creasy was a colourful celebration of love.

Fun, family and friends key to great day THE summer wedding of Karoline and Andrew Creasy was a highlight in a love story that began five years ago.

The wedding was planned over almost 18 months after Andrew proposed on Christmas Day, 2014 by hiding an engagement ring in Karoline’s Christmas present.

Both the wedding and reception was held at Wangaratta Turf Club, and Karoline took a low fuss approach to wedding fashion, with the groom, groomsmen and flower girls all wearing clothes purchased locally.

The bridesmaids all wore a variation of a floral tea dress to suit their personal

style, while Karoline’s wedding dress was from Chi Chi London.

Hair and makeup for all the women in the bridal party was done by Studio 2 and Michael Finch respectively.

Karoline said she was very happy with the way the day went.

“We wanted somewhere that could cater for both the ceremony and the reception, so people didn’t have to travel in between and so we could just relax and breathe once all the ‘I do’s’ were over,” she said of choosing the turf club.

“The venue gave us the flexibility to be able to really make it our own in

regards to decorating and planning.”

She said what she aimed for was a vintage vibe with a hint of 1960s summer picnic/country hoedown.

“We just wanted something super bright, fun and relaxed.”

Many hours were spent scouring op shops, vintage stores and the like during the wedding planning with her friends, the O’Keefe sisters, who helped her find the right decorative touches as well as handmaking vintage fabric bunting and putting together wedding favours.

“All of our decorations were either handmade or bought extremely cheap online or in op shops,” Karoline said,

adding that her three daughters even helped with painting and decorating.

“It was such a big celebration of our lives together that we wanted everyone we loved to feel a part of it.”

Others involved in the day included photographer Tory D Photography, celebrant Jan Tottenham, cake from Renee Petrie from Lady Rose Fondant Creations, dancefloor lighting and music from Wangaratta Light and Sound, and a photobooth from Carolyn’s Photo Booth.

“Our wedding wasn’t just about two people falling in love, our wedding meant that two families became one big one,” Karoline said.

Personal photographic touch YOU only need to spend a few minutes chatting to Wangaratta based photographer Sarah Craven to see she is equally passionate about the North East region and capturing personal and beautiful wedding images.

For as long as she can remember, she has been fascinated with photography, and is highly qualified in the industry, having studied her craft at a photography and design institute in Melbourne.

As well as being a committed wedding photographer, Sarah is also well known for her work in food styling and commercial photography. “I have a trained eye for styling and photography and love every aspect of line, angle, colour, texture and composition,� she said. “I also have a soft spot for love, so I dedicate myself to capturing some awesome wedding days for a good part of the year. “It’s a good balance.�

She prides herself on working closely with couples to create a day to remember while keeping it relaxed on the day, specialising in candid shots and revealing the true emotion of that one moment. “I get to know each couple as well as I can,� she said. “I pretty much immerse myself in every couple’s story and journey into marriage, as every wedding is so unique.�
