Show up for Men’s Shed fundraiser WANGARATTA Men’s Shed is calling on the generosity of community spirit following a devastating $25,000 loss last year, with an upcoming country market planned to raise money to replace the amount scammed from the organisation. The majority of the money, scammed last September, had been raised by Wangaratta Men’s Shed members over several years along with a

with little hope of ever catching up with the criminals responsible, so the organisation is now looking ahead to other solutions. Shed member Gordon Remnant said the market hopes to see at least 50 stallholders snag a spot at the event in mid-February, with room for up to 100 stalls available. “At this point we’re looking for stallholders, it can be everything and
anything,” he said. “It could be a car boot sale, trash and treasure, handmade products, fresh produce, really anything. “It could even be a good reason to do a garage clean out. “The only restriction is food as we’ll be supplying a barbecue cook-up ourselves on the day. “The hope is we can get as many people as possible to take the sites and then if
the community can show up for us on the day and help us raise money to cover our loss that would be excellent. “We’re hoping for 50 sites taken, there’s enough space for 100 sites at the saleyards where we’re holding the market so we’d love to see people sign up. “All money the stallholders make will be theirs...our fundraising will happen through selling those sites and providing

food and refreshments on the day.” The five metre sites are $30 and stallholders who clean up their sites at the end of the market will receive a $10 refund. The market will be held on Sunday, February 18 from 9am to 1pm at the Wangaratta Saleyards in Shanley Street. If you would like to register a stall, call Mal White on 0431 084 380.
