LINE executive officer Allison Winters said it was inspiring to see the positive local response to the event. “It’s really comforting for us to know with 80 per cent of attendees from the local area, I think it’s showed us there is such support lo-

cally,” Allison said. “It’s really amazing meeting all of the different people who were blown by how big the event was, how many stalls there were and by the fabulous music. “I think we’ve seen from the numbers and the feedback this year that people want it, they value it, they

love it and it’s bringing not only a benefit for the local community in terms of social connection and safe and welcome spaces, but there’s also an economic benefit as well. “A big thanks goes to the Wangaratta community and council for supporting the event and showing that it’s wanted in the community.”

After an overwhelming inaugural event at King George Gardens last year, festival organisers made the shift to the bigger Batchelors Green venue which doubled the attendance, with more stalls, activities and bigger performances proving to be a hit. ■ Continued page 2
