Warriors’ gutsy win Sport

WE’RE FEELING THE HEAT OF SUMMER SUMMER is turning up the heat this week. After a mild December, Wangaratta and district is in the grips of a low-intensity to severe heatwave with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a warning for the coming days. Today’s temperature in Wangaratta is forecast to reach 37 degrees Celsius, followed by 38C tomorrow, 39C on Friday, 38C on Saturday, 37C on Sunday and 36C next Monday. Monday’s temperature in the rural city reached a maximum of 35.8 degrees. Four year old Cohen Ashton of Wangaratta (pictured) was staying super cool at Wangaratta Splash Park on Mitchell Avenue. The facility is likely to become increasingly popular this week with the hotter weather. ■ Further story page 3 PHOTO: Jeff Zeuschner
