houses in the Upper Murray network are in the Rural City of Wangaratta and will receive an increase of $203,000 to their base funding, which will equate

POLICE are investigating two separate crashes on Wangaratta district roads where a total of six people were hospitalised with varying degrees of injury. The first incident involved a two–vehicle collision at the Federation Way/ Springhurst Boorhaman Road intersection last Saturday at about 5pm, causing extensive damage to vehicles. Sergeant Brian McCormick of Wangaratta police said a vehicle with three female occupants from NSW was heading north on Federation Way at the time it and another vehicle carrying two occupants – a man and a woman both from Corowa – collided. He said one of the occupants from the second vehicle was airlifted to hospital, with the other four conveyed to Northeast Health Wangaratta with non–life threatening injuries. In the second crash yesterday, police said a 19 year old Everton man was the single occupant driving along the Great Alpine Road at Tarrawingee at about 8.07am when he lost control of his vehicle, forcing it to roll onto its roof, later coming to rest against a tree. The man was conveyed to Northeast Health Wangaratta for observation. Sgt McCormick said police investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
