MPs’ cash plea Sport

LOCAL state MPs are calling for additional funding to stymie a regional homelessness crisis which has been exacerbated by an uptick in domestic violence in recent years. find appropriate housing in a skyrocketing local rental market. As reported in the Wangaratta Chronicle on Monday, instances of family violence throughout the

rural city have risen from 521 in 2019 to 632 last calendar year. be further investment to provide outreach workers to go into the homes and educate perpetrators and support family members. “I am of the belief that there is insufficient investment to prevent family violence and there is no accommodation for men who are required to be moved from the home.” ■ Continued page 2
