aft entry through fter forcing f i t th h the store’s front roller doors. Police are yet to determine exactly how the man may have gained entry to the premises. “It’s a bit unclear – I think he’s forced the roller doors at the front of the store with physical force,” DSC Doyle said. “The electricity was cut so at this stage we haven’t got any cameras to see how the actual entry was forced, but we think it was just physical force, he managed

to little bit bit. t fforce it up a littl “It was pretty straightforward because he got caught on the hop – the uniform members got him coming out of the garage door. “He had about $485 (in cash) he was in possession of, and he’d managed to steal a safe and money tin which are locked and still in my possession so I don’t actually know how much money is in there, but it could be (upwards of) $10,000.”

Doyle the shop DSC D l said id th h attendant had since been cooperating with police, but was unsure of exactly how much money would have been inside the store’s safe. The alleged offender was subsequently charged with four counts of theft, burglary, attempted theft, criminal damage, going equipped to steal and unlicensed driving, and will face Wangaratta Magistrates Court next February.

Doyle the atDSC D l said id th t tempted burglary appeared to be an isolated incident. “It appears to be a one-off, there’s been nothing else done over the weekend, but he’s (from) Narrandera so there’s a bit of a disconnect between New South Wales and Victoria,” he said. “(NSW Police) have been notified but they haven’t come back with anything.” The man’s vehicle was subsequently seized by police.
