ADVENTURE is constantly calling Bright resident Ric Williamson. Raised with an affinity for the outdoors, he has enjoyed getting out in nature since childhood, and can often be found getting away from it all when taking a break from his work. “You definitely get a sense of freedom, it’s a release from everyday stress,” said Ric, who is a keen skier and snowboarder. “I’m really a wannabe adventurer, who loves the beauty of the mountains and all the activities that you can do here, but I’m not really good at any of them. “I’ve done paragliding, mountain biking, telemarking, snowboarding, rock climbing and slacklining. “It’s just good to get outside.” His everyday life, working at his business Hand Cut Productions, regularly sees him creating tourism videos, so he is regularly out amongst the North East’s rugged beauty. It is this sense of adventure that led him to establish the Bright Mountain Film Tour (BMFT), now in its second year and opening later this month. He said one of his favourite pastimes is seeing good adventure films. Ŷ Continued page 3
