IT’S the end of one era and the start of another for Kate’s Cottage, with Rod and Chris Gerrett recently selling the business after 37 years as owners and operators of the Glenrowan landmark. For decades the cottage - a replica of the ramshackle hut that Ned Kelly’s family lived in - has played host to tens of thousands of visitors a year, keen to learn more about the town’s unique place in Australian history. “Being locals, the story and history of Ned has always been in our blood,” Chris said. “The journey with the Kelly history has been one of passion and has bought us so much joy with all the folks that we have met.” “We are so thankful for those who have shared their personal Kelly stories with us, those who have trusted us with precious artefacts knowing that we will cherish and preserve them for all to see in our museum. “Rod and I are so thankful for the friendships that we have made over 37 years which will endure after this.
