mayor for a one-year term after choosing to not seek reelection for the mayoral role. In taking the chair as new mayor, Cr Price said she hoped the unanimous show of support from councillors

would give the community great confidence in her position. “It speaks to how well this group of councillors works together, and hopefully that translates to good outcomes,” she said. “These are very challenging times, not just for our shire but across the nation and globally, and I will work as hard as possible to ensure

that we continue to listen to our community and respond appropriately. “I’ll be Indigo Shire’s strongest advocate at every stage, building the crucial partnerships with all levels of government that are required. “I have five generations of my family that live across different parts of Indigo shire, and I want fantastic

outcomes and planning so that your families and mine can continue to love living here.” Having been elected as deputy mayor to serve a two-year stint only last year, Cr Peter Croucher showed his support for Cr Gaffney to take on the role, a motion which was carried 6-1 with the only opposition raised by Cr Larry Goldsworthy.
