Track closure action
By CORAL COOKSLEY
PARKS Victoria has advised that design work for the reopening of the Lake Kerferd - Lake Sambell track has now completed, with onthe-ground work expected to be completed by the end of the year. The project had been scheduled last year as part of a statewide works program to improve the safety of parks.

Lake Kerferd - Lake Sambell track in line to reopen p byy end of yyear A spokesperson also advised that Parks Victoria will be working with Traditional Owners on plans for the future of the Yeddonba art site. For more than three years the Yeddonba Indigenous Rock Art site in the ChilternMt Pilot National Park has been closed with the wellused Lake Kerford to Lake Sambell walking track closed
for around the same time. Last year in May the O&M Advertiser reported Parks Victoria had stated a design team would be completing their first inspection of the Yeddonba site “in the next two weeks”. Advice had also been received that following a review of environmental, heritage, planning and cultural
heritage requirements of the design, a construction program would be released. When asked about the closure and reopening of a section of the Gorge Scenic Drive, the spokesperson said recent flooding in the Beechworth Historic Park caused structural damage to abutments of the Spring Creek Bridge. “An engineering assess-
ment of the damage is currently underway to determine the extent of the damage and estimate how long it will take to repair,” the spokesperson said. “Pedestrians can access Gorge Road but are not permitted on the bridge while an engineering assessment is undertaken.” ■ Continued page 2
