Jade’s Letter “Winter is an etching, Spring a watercolour, Summer an oil painting and Autumn a mosaic of them all”. I came across this beautiful saying by Stanley Horowitz the other day and I think it perfectly describes the seasons and maybe why we have a special affinity with one.

We each seem to have a fondness for one season more than the others, whether it’s basking in the Summer sun or hibernating for Winter and it’s often reflected in the colour choices we make for our homes and clothing.

I am a huge fan of Autumn, perhaps because of the montage of all the seasons – cool, crisp mornings with the sun coming up over white frosty grass, the promise of a beautiful warmish day, then as the sun sets the temperature drops – perfect for hearty meals and snuggling on the sofa.
