We’re on the hunt for Rhody Gems! Every neighborhood has that secret, hidden, cool and unusual, or hole-in-the-wall spot that locals love. Email or tag us on social media using #RhodyGem to suggest yours, and we might just feature it!

What it is:

An expansive spice and tea shop that stocks a large variety of products from around the world that extends to salts, peppers, teas, spices, and sugars. They also create and sell over 100 custom blends perfect for any number of meats, poultry, dips, and marinades.

Where to find it:

On Thames Street, across from Brooks Brothers, look for the blue awning that beckons “Come in and smell the spices.”

What makes it a Rhody Gem?

Step through the front doors and be greeted by an assortment of aromatic scents. The rustic aesthetic and muted colors draw your eyes to the seemingly endless shelves of colorful spices and teas lining the walls. It would be easy to spend hours sifting through the dozens of jars, bottles, and pouches of rubs, dips, honeys, and more, many of which are organic or imported. “You could make chicken every night and it will taste di erent each time by using a di erent custom blend, ” says Sheree Baldwin, multi unit retail manager. “We strive for every customer to have a fun-filled experience here by speaking with them, asking questions, sampling, and o ering suggestions.”
