Providence Children’s Health Each year 112,000 babies, children and teens rely on Providence Children’s Health for compassionate care, hope and healing. Amid the pandemic, this care is even more important. Generous community members such as you can support our programs that bring life-changing care to local children and their families.

By giving generously tonight, you will help sustain and advance specialized programs for children in need, including:

Swindells Resource Center

Being the parent or caregiver of a child with special health care needs can be overwhelming. Many families don’t know where to turn for help. Providence’s one-of-a kind Swindells Resource Center provides free resources, information, education and peer-to-peer support. Last year our centers, located in Portland and Medford, served more than 20,000 families.

Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children

The Center for Medically Fragile Children cares for children who will need complex medical care their entire lives. It is the first and only pediatric skilled nursing facility in the Pacific Northwest. Generous donors have supported the center’s facilities, equipment and activities for decades – enhancing the care, dignity and quality of life for these vulnerable children and their families. Since a lifetime of care for these children is financially overwhelming to any family, your support helps bridge what Medicaid and private insurance does not cover.

Families do not pay anything out of pocket. This financial shortfall for the center exceeds $1 million a year.

Camp Erin

Camp Erin is the only weekend camp in Oregon where children ages 6-17 can be with other kids who are coping with the death of a loved one. The program is funded entirely by donations. Under the care of trained therapists and volunteers, children express themselves and build community through creative outlets such as poetry, art, music and physical activities. This year, Camp Erin is providing support virtually to grieving children.

Neonatal Intensive Care Units

Providence’s neonatal intensive care units care for the tiniest babies throughout Oregon, some as young as 23 weeks preterm. In addition, supporting child development before and after birth is a growing field of medicine. Providence has increased research to improve outcomes for babies and mothers, with projects that focus on improvements to pre-natal and post-partum care and on the impact of adverse childhood experiences on maternal and child health. Your gift will provide specialized equipment for these fragile babies and clinical resources for newborn research.

Zoom with Santa Experience

Santa in 2020 is tech savvy. Reserve your spot for a special 10-minute Zoom visit with Santa Claus himself from the comfort of home. Kids will have a chance to tell the big guy their Christmas wishes, and each child will receive a special letter sent home from Santa after their visit. You also will receive a video recording of the visit to remember this special time.

Santa is available to Zoom with families everywhere, so you don’t need to be in Oregon to purchase and schedule a Zoom call. There are 84 spots available for purchase.

Time slots are available on Friday, Dec. 11; Saturday, Dec. 12; and Sunday, Dec. 13.

Alaska Airlines Raffle

Enter to win two round-trip airfare vouchers on Alaska Airlines. Tickets are $75 each, and only 250 tickets will be sold. The winning ticket will be drawn and announced at the end of the show. Don’t miss your chance to win. Package is valued at $2,578.

Frequently asked questions What if I buy a full-size tree requiring delivery?

We will contact you between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 to confirm all delivery details. Prestige Moving and Storage Company will deliver full-size trees within 30 miles of the Oregon Convention Center on Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5. As a special courtesy to those who bought full-size trees, we can deliver other auction items with your tree to the same delivery address. Each item will be delivered on a timely basis, barring any acts of God, inclement weather or inaccessible locations. Unfortunately, we are unable to commit to an exact delivery time. We will be in touch with you to coordinate a delivery window.

How will I know if I won an auction item?

When the auction closes at 9 p.m., all winning bidders will receive a text or email confirming the items they’ve won.

Auction item pickup:

Buyers are asked to pick up auction items (except large tree packages) at the Oregon Convention Center between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, or between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m, Saturday, Dec. 5. Auction pickup is located on the back side of the building, on the corner of First and Holladay.

On the back side of the convention center, proceed north on First Avenue toward the light at Holladay. Before you reach the light, you will see a sign that reads “Auction Pickup.” Make a hard right turn into the loading area and look for the long bank of doors.

We will email all winning bidders on Friday morning (Dec. 4) with instructions on where to go. If you have questions regarding pickup, please contact Julie Wallace at: 503-757-1937.
