Summer FAQs

Q: How do I register my child?

A: Visit the Summer.ProvidenceDay.org website and click on REGISTER NOW!

Q: How old does my child need to be to attend?

A: We welcome children who are at least four years old by June 5, 2023.

Q: What are your camp hours?

A: Half day camps typically run from 9am–12pm or 1–4pm, and full day camps run from 9am–4pm. Our new Short Day camps were a hit last summer, and you’ll find them again this summer during Session 5. Running from 9am–2pm, they include lunch and a morning snack. Other exceptions to our normal hours are noted in the schedule.

Q: Are lunch and snacks included in camp?

A: Lunch is included for campers who are here all day, and snacks are included in EVERY camp!

Q: Does my child need a physical exam or record of immunizations to attend?

A: No, you’ll complete a health history during the registration process to ensure we have all the information we need to properly care for your child. A Providence Day School Registered Nurse is on campus every day to handle health issues.

Q: Do you offer extended camp hours?

Times may change, but the power of play is timeless.

For nearly 30 years, Providence Day has helped children grow powerful through summer camp opportunities in sports, academics, art, technology, and more.

Our camp staff includes many well–loved PD teachers and coaches as well as trusted camp partners such as CreativeKids and SmArt Educational Art. With individualized attention and unflagging enthusiasm, they will make sure your child discovers the joys of summer camp in a safe, inclusive environment. Choose from half-day or full-day options that suit your family’s schedule, then leave the rest to us!

A: Our Extended Care program operates for two hours both before and after camp for busy families. In addition, kids with one half-day camp are welcome to join us for lunch. Additional fees apply; more information is available on page 6.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: Refunds are available up to 14 days prior to the start of camp; a $50 administration fee will be charged for any refunds.

Q: Do you have a registration deadline?

A: Online registration closes three days prior to the start of each camp session. Walk-in registration is available on the first day of camp only; a $50 administration fee applies for each late registration.

Q: Are there attendance requirements for PD Academy in order to be awarded credit?

A: Yes, students may miss no more than two days for onecredit courses, or one day for half-credit courses.

CAMP SCHEDULE

We offer nine sessions of programming beginning June 5, 2023. You can choose morning, afternoon, or fullday camps, or mix and match half-day camps to create an all–day adventure.

The following pages list our camps alphabetically. We’ve included all the details at a glance — dates, times, rising grade levels, and prices. We’ve indicated our NEW programs, too, for campers who are ready for something fresh. Carpool drop-off and pick-up zones will be sent to families just before camp begins. For camp descriptions, our summer website is your best resource. Each camp listing includes a detail page including what to bring to camp as well as a bio of the camp director. Go to Summer.ProvidenceDay.org/Dates–Rates

Looking for something more academic? PD Academy is our traditional summer school where you’ll find courses like Geometry Accelerated and SAT Preparation for middle and high schoolers. Check out PD Academy on page 7

The selections have been carefully curated and the favorites fill up fast, so grab a pencil, print a copy of our convenient Camp Planner at Summer.ProvidenceDay.org/Dates–Rates and start planning your summer NOW!

CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS

The beautiful facilities that make up the Providence Day campus are the result of generous donors who believe in our school’s future. Fortunately, our summer campers also benefit from their philanthropy.

Renovations completed in the past year to our McMahon Fine Arts Center include an expanded Brinkley Dining Hall that will allow all campers to enjoy their snacks and lunch in a cool and comfortable environment. In addition, the new patio provides a flexible space for a multitude of camp activities, such as water play for Camp Spirit and Charger Chill.

Extensive renovations to the Dickson-Hemby Technology Center have created state-of-the-art facilities where campers can flex their logic muscles, exercise their problem–solving skills, and apply their knowledge in hands–on activities.

As we look to the future, we can expect additional construction projects around campus that will offer campers space to grow strong physically, emotionally, and socially.
