RISING 6TH GRADE EVENT

On August 30 at 6 p.m. in the Youth Room, Rising 6th grade students and parents are invited to enjoy ice cream, hear about the Student Ministry, meet current youth, play games, and see the student space. Come, ask questions, and have fun at this small gathering intended to make parents and students feel welcome during the transition.

ACTS 2:42 GROUPS

The deadline to sign your family up for “2:42 Groups” is August 15! Sign up on Realm and join Providence families around the table, rotating hosts each quarter, as you focus on building community, connection, and fellowship.

Celebrating a Year Together

And in the blink of an eye, we’ve crossed the 1 year mark with each other.

One year of…

Celebrating with each other. Praying for and with each other. Exploring what trust looks like with each other.

Learning the gifts and talents that we can share with each other. Dreaming with each other. Listening to the way the Spirit is moving with each other. Serving with each other. Being with each other.

It has been a joy to discover who you are and a privilege to share tables and this work with you.

In these last weeks of summer, in that space where our paths of continuing on and beginning again find an intersection, I’m grateful that ours are shared. I’m grateful for the ways that we will continue on - in the old, familiar paths and rhythms. I look forward to the ways that we will begin again - how we will blaze new trails and create new rhythms.

FALL SOCCER

Providence Fall Soccer Registration is open! Invite a friend and register your child ages 5-10 on Realm today! Practices start in August and Games will take place on Saturdays in September-October at the Providence Baptist Church Athletic Fields. Visit www.providencebc.org/ engage/activity_center for more information.

I’m reminded of a quote by author and speaker Bob Goff. “I learned that faith isn’t about knowing all of the right stuff or obeying a list of rules. It’s something more, something more costly because it is being present and making a sacrifice. Perhaps that’s why Jesus is sometimes called Immanuel - “God with us.” I think that’s what God had in mind, for Jesus to be present, to just be with us. It’s also what God has in mind for us when it comes to other people.”

I’m so glad we get to do this work together.
