CONNECTIONS Thank you to everyone who made our Rooted in Providence event a success! We are grateful for your commitment to this community of faith.
From the Generosity Team Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. At Providence, we are the family of God—and every one of us has a role to play. Paul reminds us in Galatians 6:9–10, “Let us not grow weary in doing good…therefore, let us do good to everyone, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” This fall, we have an opportunity to live out those words together in three simple but meaningful ways: show up, serve together, and give and grow. 1. Show Up – From September 13 through October 25, we are challenging everyone to make a commitment to be here every Sunday you’re in town. Show up. Interact. Get to know the people sitting around you. If you haven’t been regularly attending a Faith Formation class, consider joining one—or come back if it’s been a while. Find a Midweek offering that works for you. There are so many ways to connect, and we want you to experience the joy of being fully present in this wonderful place.
2. Serve Together – On Sunday, October 4, we are challenging the members of Providence to serve alongside one another through Mission Sunday, which will include five mission opportunities: Rise Against Hunger food packaging, Second Harvest Food Bank encouragement card writing, our gazebo project, trash and street clean-up, and property beautification. We will begin with breakfast at 9:30am, a brief congregational gathering, and then our mission projects. Sign up on Realm by September 27 and choose your mission opportunity. 3. Give & Grow – Finally, we’re asking every member of Providence to prayerfully consider making a pledge for 2027. Our lay leadership and staff have already pledged, and last year we celebrated a record number of pledges—but we didn’t quite reach 100%. This year, we want to get there. Not simply because we need to reach a number, but because giving is one
of the ways we take ownership of this family. We each have a role in the health and future of Providence. KEY DATES • September 13 – Our For This Family Sunday challenge begins. • October 4 – Mission Sunday: Our congregation-wide opportunity to serve together. • October 18 – Pledge Sunday: All 2027 pledges are due. • October 25 – For This Family Celebration Lunch: Join us in the gym for a catered lunch as we celebrate generosity, service, and the ways we've shown up for our church family. All are welcome! This is what it means to be a family: we show up for one another, we serve together, and we invest in something bigger than ourselves.
