WELCOME TO THE Providence Academy Business Directory!
HISTORY
After 13 years of excellent entertainment on the Christian Storytelling Concert stage that included Steven Curtis Chapman, Matthew West, the Isaacs, and many more, it became evident that, in light of the pandemic of 2020, we needed to take a different direction for our fall fundraiser, which led us to create the PA Business Directory. The Lord continues to bless our students with generous givers to the need-based scholarship fund while adding the blessing of connecting our community in a new way to support one another.

NEED-BASED ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Providence Academy provides scholarship support to families based on need. During the 2022-2023 school year, approximately 20% of our students are receiving a Christ-centered and classical education through the Providence Academy Need-Based Annual Scholarship Fund. The goal for this school year is to raise $483,000 for need-based scholarships.
The heart of our Board is for scholarship funds to be available to help Christian parents who would like to provide a Christ-centered and classical education for their children but are not able to do so because of financial needs. Additionally, the Board desires to make the education at Providence as affordable as possible. Consequently, scholarship funds are raised via gifts to the school and are not a component of tuition. To achieve these two goals, the Board initiated the Providence Academy Need-Based Annual Scholarship Fund. This annual fund has become an honored tradition at Providence. We are grateful to the families and friends who support this tradition, and we are excited to build His Kingdom – “One child at a time!”
All proceeds from the Business Directory, 100%, go toward the need-based Annual Scholarship Fund.

Something big for our smallest patients
The Ballad Health Niswonger Children’s Network is a regional system of healthcare and community services marking a new phase in high standards of healthcare and well-being for children, regardless of where they live across the Appalachian Highlands.

And now, the Niswonger Children’s Network will further extend the hospital’s high standards and resources through the Hope Rising campaign. Hope Rising is a comprehensive children’s health capital campaign to raise $30 million to expand and enhance facilities and services for children and families in the Appalachian Highlands.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

The Bible does not give a specific command regarding the type of school to choose for educating children. Some would say it is silent on this topic. Yet, the Bible provides endless wisdom on the education of a child. The key question is not, “How to educate children?” The key question is, “What is the wise path for educating children?” God’s Word has many verses that apply to this topic including the five verses below.
PROVERBS 1:17 states, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” The fear of the Lord should be the foundation of education.
EPHESIANS 6:4 states, “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Does inconsistency exasperate children? Why teach one thing about God at home and at church and then the opposite at school?
LUKE 6:40 tells us, “A child will be like his teacher when fully trained.” Will 13 years of teachers represent God’s grace, His glory and a Christian worldview?
MATTHEW 12:30 states, “He that is not with me is against me.” Can an education be neutral?
MATTHEW 28:19 gives the imperative, “make disciples.” Is the school focused on preparing for a career, shaping compliant citizens, or making disciples?
These are exciting times at Providence Academy!

There is an OVERFLOW of demand for enrollment at PA. God has already touched the hearts of parents. He has already sent us the enrollment requests for students. The Overflow in God’s Providence campaign is our opportunity to make a difference for these students, their families, and our culture as we get to shape and mold the leaders of tomorrow.
