Warranty 1-Year Limited Warranty The Commodore Corporation or its subsidiaries warrants this manufactured home to be free from substantial defects of material or workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one (1) year from date of delivery to the FIRST RETAIL PURCHASER, subject to the conditions set forth in this warranty. Defects of material or workmanship reported under the terms of this warranty will be repaired or replaced at the manufacturer’s discretion without charge to the owner for parts or labor.

Should any defect occur, not excluded under the EXCLUSIONS, LIMITATIONS, and RESTRICTIONS set forth below, written notice must be given not later than one (1) year and ten (10) days following the date of delivery to the first retail purchaser.

The written notice should first be sent to the dealer that sold you your home. If the repairs are not made to your satisfaction, then please forward a copy of your request to the Commodore plant whose address is shown on the front cover of your Home Owner’s Manual.

This warranty DOES NOT INCLUDE: 1. Coverage to correct defects or damage attributable to owners negligence or misuse, unauthorized repairs, accidents, alterations or modifications that were made after the date of delivery to the first retail customer.

2. Coverage due to failure to follow any instructions set forth in the HOME OWNER’S MANUAL and INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. 3. Coverage to correct defects attributable to improper transportation, set-up, blocking or leveling of the home.

4. Coverage to correct defects in appliances or other products whose manufacturers provide a separate warranty. These warranties have been provided to you and their procedures should be followed.

5. Coverage to furniture, drapes, beds and bedding, unless noted during initial inspection of the home.

6. Coverage to any equipment, appliances or other features of your home not installed by Commodore, whether installed by the dealer or any other person.

7. Coverage under this warranty shall apply only to the FIRST RETAIL PURCHASER of the home. It is not transferable.

Further, there is no coverage for commercial use. If the home is used for commercial use prior to a sale to the first retail purchaser, the warranty is void.

8. COMMODORE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, including, but not limited to, loss of time, inconvenience, hotel bills, telephone calls, spoiled goods and lost wages. (Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the preceding limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.)

OTHER THAN AS SET FORTH ABOVE, COMMODORE MAKES NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THIS HOME AND NO PERSON OR DEALER IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY OR PROMISE ON BEHALF OF COMMODORE. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO ONE YEAR. (Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the preceding limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.)

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. No action to enforce this warranty shall be commenced later than six (6) months after the expiration of the warranty period.

Commodore reserves the unrestricted right at any time make changes in the design and improvements of its products without thereby imposing any obligation upon itself to make corresponding changes or improvements in or upon products heretofore manufactured.

by Nick Gromicko and Ethan Ward When quantifying the energy efficiency of a window assembly, the rate of loss of non-solar heat can be expressed as its U-factor (or U-value). Understanding the U-factors of windows is helpful for inspectors performing energy audits, as well as for consumers planning a new build or updating a house with energy-efficient windows.

What is the U-Factor?

The U-factor rating system was devised by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). The NFRC is a non-profit group that administers a uniform, independent rating and labeling system for the energy efficiency of building components, including windows, doors, skylights and attachment products. The U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Program take the U-factor into account when evaluating the energy efficiency of windows for product certifications, and federal incentive and rebate programs.

Windows that have the best resistance to heat flow and, thus, the best insulating qualities, have a low U-factor. Less efficient windows with poor insulating ability have a high U-factor. The combination of a window’s U-factor, air leakage, sunlight transmittance, and solar heat-gain coefficient add up to determine its level of energy efficiency.

The temperature difference between the interior and exterior of a building creates the non-solar heat flow that results in windows losing heat to the outside during the winter, and gaining heat from outside during the summer. Compensating for this by cranking the thermostat or turning up the AC results in added energy needs and higher bills.

Greater energy efficiency calls for a closer examination of the individual building components to see how they can work individually and in relation to each other in more effective ways. U-factor ratings can help in formulating standardized comparisons and objective evaluations.

Determining the U-Factor The U-factor generally refers to the energy efficiency of the complete window assembly, which includes the glazing, window frame and spacer. The spacer is the component of a window frame that separates the glazing panels, and often reduces the U-factor at the glazing edges. The performance rating of the glazing alone, independent of the frame, is known as the center-of-glass U-factor, but use of this rating is less common. For most energy-efficient windows, the U-factor for the entire window assembly is higher than the U-factor at the center of the glass.

The best, high-performance, double-pane windows may have a U-factor of 0.30 or lower, indicating that they are very energy-efficient. Manufacturers have started to incorporate low-emittance coatings and gas fills between panes in attempts to further decrease U-factors and provide an even more energy-efficient product.

U-Factors in Different Climates While beneficial in cooling-dominated climates, a low U-factor is most important for windows in heating-dominated climates. The following are recommendations for the most effective window U-factors based on the major climate zones in the United States. • In colder climates in the North that are heating-dominated, the U-factor should be less than or equal to 0.30 for windows, and less than or equal to 0.55 for skylights. In areas where air-conditioning needs are minimal, windows that allow for solar heat gain during the day (a solar heat-gain coefficient of 0.40 or higher) can be considered energy-efficient with a U-factor as high as 0.32. Low U-factor windows are most important and will be most effective in this colder climate area where minimizing heat loss is critical to energy efficiency. • In mixed climates in the North and Midwest regions that use both heating and cooling, the U-factor should be less than or equal to 0.32 for windows, and less than or equal to 0.55 for skylights. Heating bills can help determine the importance of U-factors in this climate. Higher bills indicate the importance windows with a lower U-factor for added energy efficiency. • In mixed climates in the South and central regions that use both heating and cooling, the U-factor should be less than or equal to 0.35 for windows, and less than or equal to 0.57 for skylights. In these climates, again, heating costs can determine if a lower U-factor could be beneficial and more energy-efficient. If costs are high and a list of factors for heat loss is being addressed, window U-factor can be taken into consideration. A low U-factor for windows can also be helpful during hotter seasons when it is important to keep heat out, though a low solar heat-gain coefficient is more important in such situations.

• In hot climates in the South that are cooling-dominated, the U-factor can be less than or equal to 0.60 for windows, and less than or equal to 0.70 for skylights. A lower U-factor is still useful during any cold times of the year when heating is needed in this climate. Such low ratings can ensure that heat is kept out on hot days when combined with a low solar heat-gain coefficient, which is the most important consideration in this climate.

When warm indoor air is cooled below its dew point, liquid water is squeezed from the air and condensation collects on the cold surface. Condensation typically develops around the edges of window glass. No surprise. The edge is where most double-paned glazing is held apart by aluminum spacers. Aluminum spacers are highly conductive, so the coldest part of a glazed unit is around its edges. Moist conditions support the growth of mold, decay and failure of finishes. Condensation affects durability and comfort. It is the number 1 reason for window-related callbacks. Warming the edges reduces the chance for condensation to form. It is virtually impossible to build a window that doesn’t have a thermal bridge. But the material and shape of the material used to make the spacer can substantially effect the rate that heat travels through a window’s edge. Many window makers now offer warm-edge spacers as standard fare. Conventional aluminum spacers are not acceptable! The best windows use less conductive materials like thin stainless steel, plastic, foam and rubber. Warm-edge spacers can improve the U-value of an entire window unit by 10%. But more importantly, condensation is reduced. These spacers boost the edge temperature by around 5 degrees. There are many trademarked versions like Swiggle Stick, Super Spacer, PPG Intercept, Ultra Edge, etc. What’s important is that the window you order has a warm-edge spacer system. And if you are concerned that the argon gas will leak out of the window, all indications are that a properly constructed seal will easily last 20 years. Check the warranty.

Faucets Clarion Bathware Warranty

ͳǥ ʹͲͳ͸

Clarion Bathware offers the following limited warranties against defects in material and workmanship. These warranties apply only to the original owner/end-user and are non-transferrable.

Residential use: Merchandise is guaranteed for a period of six (6) years from the date of initial purchase against defects in material and workmanship.

Commercial use: Merchandise is guaranteed for a period of six (6) years from the date of initial purchase against defects in material and workmanship.

Component/Accessories: Merchandise supplied by Clarion Bathware is guaranteed for a period of one (1) year from the date of initial purchase against defects in material and workmanship.

All claims must include proof of purchase. If within the warranty period any such product shall prove to be defective of material defects, manufacturing defects, labor defects, it shall be repaired or replaced (with a product of equal value) excluding removal and installation at the manufacturer’s option.

Shipping Damages: All units must be carefully inspected upon delivery. Any damage must be reported on the receipt or freight slip at that time.

When applying the warranty, adequate time must be permitted to schedule and complete the work. Inspections and work will be scheduled and completed by an authorized representative of Clarion Bathware.

Clarion Bathware will not be responsible for any claims related to failures, damages, delays or excessive costs incurred that could have been discovered, avoided or repaired with proper inspection and testing prior to or during installation.

EXCLUSIONS: 1. This warranty shall not apply to incorrect operating procedures, breakage or damages caused by normal wear and tear, improper storage, fault, carelessness, negligence, abuse, misuse, use other than intended (non-bathing), misapplication, improper maintenance, alteration, or modification of the unit by or for the buyer, as well as chemical or natural corrosion, fire, act of god, or any other casualty.

2. The original owner/end-user covered by the present warranty is entirely responsible for its proper installation and for all plumbing and electrical connections. Clarion Bathware neither installs nor supervises or contracts for the installation and consequently cannot be held responsible for it.

3. This warranty does not apply to units or equipment not installed and connected in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and in conformity with all local, state, codes for such installations.

4. CLARION BATHWARE IS NOT LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH TO ANY PERSON, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE, LOSS OF TIME OR PROFITS, INCONVENIENCE, INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, LABOR OR MATERIAL CHARGES OR ANY OTHER COSTS RELATED TO THE APPLICATION OF THE PRESENT WARRANTY OR IN CONNECTION WITH ANY COSTS RELATED TO THE REMOVAL OR REPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENT OR TUB. AT NO TIME WILL CLARION BATHWARE BE LIABLE FOR ANY AMOUNT IN EXCESS OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE UNIT IN QUESTION. 5. This warranty does not apply to the staining or malfunction of the unit due to ferrous, hard or salty water. Nor does the warranty cover fading, blistering or cracking due to excessive wear, light exposure or cleaning methods.

6. The owner/end-user will be responsible for all expenses incurred to supply access for service of the unit and its components.

7. The warranty will be voided if the unit is moved from the original installation location.

8. Any Third-party alterations or installations will not be covered under this warranty.

9. All Clarion Bathware modules have slip-resistant textured floors. The use of “suction-cup� bathmats can cause surface damage and will not be covered under warranty.

10. Clarion Bathware makes no express warranty, No warranty of merchantability. No warranty of fitness for particular purposes, compliance with any code, neither any other warranty implied or statutory for its products other than specified above.

11. Any refusal to permit the repair or replacement (at Clarion Bathware’s discretion) of the unit will terminate the warranty and any associated claims. Any repaired unit or replacement will remain under warranty for the duration of the original warranty period only.

12. Any repair not authorized by Clarion Bathware will not be covered under the warranty.

Clarion Bathware reserves the right to change the warranty at any time, with the understanding that any such change shall not supersede the terms of the warranty implied at the purchase date of the unit in question.

Faucets Clarion Bathware Care and Maintenance

44 Amsler Avenue Shippenville, PA 16254 Phone (800) 576-9228 Fax (814) 226-5568 CARE AND MAINTENANCE DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS Abrasive cleaners may scratch and dull the surface of the unit. To clean the unit after installation, use warm water and one of the stronger liquid detergents, such as; Top Job, Liquid Ajax, or Mr. Clean. Use these liquid detergents for normal day-to-day cleaning.

Plaster can be removed with a nylon or polypropylene scrubber. DO NOT USE steel wool, metal scraper, wire brushes, or other metal tools. One of the powder type detergents, such as Spic & Span, may be used on a damp cloth to provide mild abrasive action to remove residue plaster. Minor stains can be removed with a household strength ammonia or bleach.

A periodic scrub down with gel gloss or a dishwashing detergent (wear rubber gloves) will usually remove any soap or mineral deposits. Periodic waxing with an automotive polish followed by a light application of liquid wax, such as Johnson’s’ Jubilee will add luster and preserve the finish.

Lighted smoking materials will leave burn marks on fiberglass products. This or other similar damages can often be repaired by rubbing the affected area with an automotive type body polishing compound, such as; Dupont No. 7 followed by an automotive body wax, such as Simoniz. More severe burns require careful sanding with 400 – 600 grit wet carborundum sandpaper and a final rub out with the automotive polishing compound and wax.

Extensive damage can be completely repaired. A professional service repairman in your area should perform such repair work. If local service is not available, or if you need further assistance, contact Clarion Bathware. Repair kits with gelcoat included, may be purchased through Clarion Bathware.

Whirlpool Cleaning Whirlpool systems should be cleaned periodically using household bleach. Always use caution when using chlorine based products in conjunction with other cleaning products. The possibility of harmful fumes could result. Always rinse well. Fill tub with warm water above jets and add 1 cup of household bleach. Turn system on for 5 minutes. Drain tub and re-fill with cold water. Restart system for 10 minutes then drain.

Clean the brush head by rubbing the bristles over the powerful suction.

Tap the lower part of the switch gently with the broom or with your foot.

Cleaning: To clean the front face of the Sweepovac. Unplug or switch off at the electrical panel. Rub the front using a slightly dampened cloth.

Tap the switch to turn off OR allow the ten second timer to automatically turn off the unit.

Push the drawer home until it clicks back into place.

Replace the bag as shown every 12 weeks (for normal domestic use). The bag can be changed at the appliance or the entire drawer can be carried to the garbage can and the bag disposed of there. Ensure the three cardboard lugs are slotted home.

Hold the bag upright when removing to prevent dirt spilling out.

Slide out the bag drawer.

CHANGING THE BAG AND FILTER

It is recommended to change the filter every year or if it appears dirty on visual inspection.

Press down the bag release catch to clip in or to remove the bag.

Change the bag every 12 weeks (for normal domestic use) and the filter every 12 months.

To remove the entire Sweepovac appliance from it’s location.

Consult the fitting instructions that accompanied this manual, ensure that the Sweepovac is disconnected from the power before removal.

If none of the above are effective.

Contact an electrical repair shop or Sweepovac if the warranty is still valid.

Ensure the Sweepovac is unplugged. Remove the bag drawer. Visually inspect the rear of the cavity where the bag drawer sits. A grill at the rear protects the motor. This grill should be free from any obstruction.

To check for and remove a blockage at the motor inlet.

Remove the bag drawer, hold the drawer vertically with the front pointing upwards, this will allow the sweepings to fall to the rear of the bag. Lay the drawer flat, remove the bag, insert a single finger through the bag holding pipe, any obstruction will be felt and can be removed. A finger can also be inserted into the outside opening where the dirt is vacuumed through.

Plug 'N Play™ Modules Plug 'N Play™ modules provide up to two features (multi-speed is already built-in to FV-05-11VKSL1). Select from Motion Sensor, Condensation Sensor and LED Night Light.

FV-VS15VK1: Multi-Speed with Time Delay - N/A for this Fan, already built-in.

Allows you to select the proper CFM settings to satisfy ASHRAE 62.2 continuous ventilation requirements. The fan runs continuously at a pre-set lower level (0, 30-100 CFM, in 10 CFM increments), then elevates to a maximum level of operation (50-80-110 CFM) when the wall switch is turned on, or when the motion sensor or Condensation Sensor module is activated.

A High/Low delay timer returns the fan to the pre-set CFM level after a period of time set by the user.

FV-MSVK1: Motion Sensor Automatically activates when someone enters the room. Once the settings have been applied, the fan becomes truly automatic.

This module also activates a 20 minute delay off timer for the fan.

FV-CSVK1: Condensation Sensor Helps control bathroom condensation to prevent mold and mildew. Sensor technology detects relative humidity and temperature to anticipate dew point, automatically turning the fan on to control humidity. Built-in Relative Humidity (RH) sensitivity adjustment enables fine tuning for moist conditions and for satisfying CalGreen requirements. FV-NLVK1: LED Night Light A photocell automatically turns on the 1 watt LED night light when darkness is sensed in the room. Turning the Heater OFF

The continuous indoor blower operation can be obtained with the thermostat system mode set in any position, including OFF.

Set the thermostat fan mode to ON (Figure 1). The indoor blower starts immediately, and will run continually until the fan mode is reset to AUTO.

The continuous indoor blower operation is typically used to circulate the indoor air to equalize a temperature unbalance due to a sun load, cooking, or ďŹ replace operation.

Supply Air Connections

Living space not served by, and closed off from the return air ducts to the furnace (by doors, sliding partitions, and other means) must be provided with permanent, uncloseable openings in the doors or partitions to allow air to return to the furnace from all parts of the home. Return air grilles, with a minimum open area of one square inch for every ďŹ ve square feet of living space closed off from the furnace, must be provided in the door or room partition.

Closed-Off Spaces

All duct work passing through unconditioned space must be properly insulated to minimize duct losses and prevent condensation. Use insulation with an outer vapor barrier.

Approved installation, operation, and maintenance of this appliance must be in accordance with the listed speciďŹ cations contained in these instructions and other documents supplied with the furnace and/or optional air conditioning equipment. Unless it is noted differently in this manual, only use factory authorized kits and accessories when modifying this appliance. Refer to local authorities having jurisdiction for further information.

This appliance will provide many years of safe and dependable comfort, providing it is properly installed and maintained. Abuse, improper use, and/or improper maintenance can shorten the life of the appliance and create unsafe hazards. Please read all instructions before installing the unit.

The E4 electric furnace is designed only for indoor installations and can be readily connected to the high static duct system of a home. Units are approved for single/ multistory residential or mobile/modular/manufactured structures in upďŹ&#x201A;ow, downďŹ&#x201A;ow, (freestanding/closet/ alcove) conďŹ gurations.

General Information

NOTE: Since all installations are different, the sequence of these steps may differ from the actual installation. These installation procedures are suggested for typical furnace installations. /NLY QUALIlED (6!# TECHNICIANS SHOULD install this furnace.

Duct connectors are recommended for heated air distribution in under-the-ďŹ&#x201A;oor duct systems. With this system, furnaces may be installed on combustible ďŹ&#x201A;ooring without a separate sub-base. The furnace rear mounting plate (Figure 8 (page 10)) supplied with the duct connectors is recommended for use with this type of installation.

Duct Connectors for DownďŹ&#x201A;ow Systems

Furnace may be equipped with the optional automatic damper when a packaged air conditioner is installed and connected to the warm air duct system. This damper (not required) prevents cooled air from discharging through the furnace cabinet, causing excessive cooling of the immediate area. Refer to the instructions supplied with the damper for details.

s 3URVEY THE JOB SITE TO DETERMINE THE BEST LOCATION for installing the unit. Consideration should be given to availability of electric power, service access, and noise. s 4HE DIMENSIONS OF THE ROOM OR ALCOVE MUST BE ABLE to accommodate the overall size of the unit and the installation clearances in Table 1 (page 5).

Locating the Unit

1. Center the duct connector in the ďŹ&#x201A;oor opening with bottom tabs resting on top of the supply air duct.

2. Mark the cut-out area on the supply air duct by tracing around the connector tabs of the duct connector. See Figure 8.

3. Remove the duct connector and cut out the marked area of the supply air duct 1/4â&#x20AC;? larger than the actual cutout drawn.

4. Install the duct connector back in the ďŹ&#x201A;oor opening with the bottom tabs extending into the supply air duct.

5. Install the mounting plate (Figure 8) under the back side of the duct connector. Align the screw holes in both components.

6. Secure the duct connector and the mounting plate to the wood ďŹ&#x201A;oor with appropriate size screws.

7. Bend the connector tabs on the bottom of the duct connector upwards and as tight as possible against the supply air duct. See Figure 9.

8. Seal all connections with industrial grade sealing tape or liquid sealant.

1. Score and cut the top of the supply air duct as indicated in Option 1 or Option 2 (Figure 10). With Option 1 choice, cut out the metal from the shaded area.

2. Fold the two ďŹ&#x201A;aps (Options 1 or 2) up to form the opening for the duct connector.

3. Install the duct connector with the bottom tabs extending into the supply air duct.

4. Bend the tabs on the bottom of the duct connector upwards and as tight as possible against the supply air duct. See Figure 11 (page 11).

6. Secure the duct connector ďŹ&#x201A;aps to the supply air duct with staples (3 minimum) or if a 2x block/joist is not provided, use sheet metal screws (2 minimum).

NOTE: The duct connector tabs may be attached to the air duct with sheet metal screws or other suitable fasteners as long as the duct connector and the air duct are securely attached.

7. Seal all connections with industrial grade sealing tape or liquid sealant.

1. Apply a bead of caulking, mastic, or other approved sealant around bottom side of connector.

2. Install and center the duct connector in the floor opening.

3. Install the mounting plate under the back side of the duct connector. See Figure 12. NOTE: Align the screw holes in both components.

4. Secure the duct connector and the mounting plate to the wood floor with appropriate size screws.

The steps below describe installation procedures for an under-the-floor supply duct system with a ducted or unducted return air system. Duct connectors are recommended for this application. See Table 2 (page 10).

Downflow Furnaces For typical unducted return air downflow applications, an air-conditioner or heat-pump coil can be installed by mounting the coil directly on top of the furnace without adding sheet metal cavities or cutting and trimming wood panels. Unducted return air systems may be used for closet or alcove installations.

For proper air circulation, closet installations require a return air grill installed in the door or a partially louvered door across the opening. For clearances 6” or greater, the closet must have an open free area of 235 in2 minimum.

For special clearances between 1” - 5”, requirements are a louvered door with a minimum of 250 in2 (1613 cm2) free area. A fully louvered closet door is strongly recommended for both installation types. For closet installations, the return air grille mounting frame is not used since the furnace is located inside the closet. For examples of both types of installations, see Figure 14 (page 12).

1. Cut return air opening in desired position in door or wall, preferably above top of furnace. Refer to Table 1 (page 5) for return air opening requirements.

The following steps describe installation instructions for an overhead supply duct system with a return air system that can be either over the floor (unducted) or through the floor (ducted).

1. Prepare Floor Opening(s): a. Mark ďŹ&#x201A;oor openings as shown in Figure 5 (page 9). Provide minimum clearances at rear and left side walls of closet for installation of furnace and wiring. b. Cut ďŹ&#x201A;oor opening on outside edge of marked line so that opening is slightly larger than area marked. c. Additional provisions may be necessary for optional air conditioning if refrigerant lines are installed other than at the front of the furnace.

2. If return air duct is made of combustible material, locate a pan fabricated of non-combustible material with 1â&#x20AC;? upturned ďŹ&#x201A;anges under furnace return air opening.

3. Route 240V supply circuit(s) and 24V wiring to closet.

See Figure 20 (page 17) for appropriate locations.

4. Position optional coil cabinet over ďŹ&#x201A;oor cutout and secure with three or more fasteners.

5. Position furnace onto coil cabinet and secure with two or more fasteners.

6. Use optional upďŹ&#x201A;ow duct connector or ďŹ eld supplied connector to attach furnace to overhead supply duct.

3. Install listed cable connector(s) in opening(s). If metalsheathed conduit is used for incoming power line(s), provide an approved metal clamp on conduit and secure it in entrance knockout.

4. Insert supply service wire(s) through cable connector(s) and connect wires to circuit breakers (Figure 17 & Figure 18). NOTE: To install single-circuit kit, perform step 5.

If single-circuit kit installation is not needed, go to step 6.

5. To install optional single-circuit kit: a. Loosen lugs at supply side of circuit breakers. b. Remove cover from single-circuit kit (if supplied). c. Insert metal buss bars of kit into lugs of circuit breaker. d. Tighten lugs securely (45 in.-lbs. recommended).

6. Connect service ground wire(s) to grounding lug(s) provided. One ground is required for each supply circuit used. See Figure 19 (page 16).

To avoid personal injury or property damage, make certain that the motor leads cannot come into contact with non-insulated metal components of the unit.

WARNING:

Power entrance for all models may be through the right side or through the bottom of the unit.

1. Remove right-hand control panel (when viewing in downďŹ&#x201A;ow position).

2. Locate power supply knockouts in side of unit and in bottom of unit. Remove appropriate plug(s) or knockout opening applicable to selected wire size(s).

Connecting Supply Service Wires

s 4HE FURNACE IS DESIGNED TO BE CONTROLLED BY A 6!# thermostat. The thermostatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s wiring must comply with the current provisions of the NEC (ANSI/NFPA 70) and with applicable local codes having jurisdiction. s 4HE THERMOSTAT SHOULD BE MOUNTED ABOUT FEET above the ďŹ&#x201A;oor on an inside wall. DO NOT install the thermostat on an outside wall or any other location where its operation may be adversely affected by radiant heat from ďŹ replaces, sunlight, or lighting ďŹ xtures, and convective heat from warm air registers or electrical appliances. Refer to the thermostat manufacturerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s instruction sheet for detailed mounting information. See Figure 22 (page 18) for typical thermostat connections. s &OR PROPER INDOOR BLOWER OPERATION AND TEMPERATURE rise, the E4 electric furnace requires that the system thermostat be conďŹ gured NOT to call for the indoor blower to operate in the heating mode. Start-up Procedures

Â&#x2014; Verify the polarity of the connections are correct, the line voltage power leads are securely connected and the furnace is properly grounded. Refer to the appropriate wiring diagram. Â&#x2014; Verify the thermostat wires are securely connected to the correct leads on the terminal strip of the circuit board. Â&#x2014; Check blower motor connectors for proper connection.

START-UP & ADJUSTMENTS Pre-Start Check List

NOTE: Installation of a ďŹ ve-wire thermostat circuit is recommended to for future addition of a heat/cool thermostat. See Figure 22 (page 18) for various E4 thermostat connections.

1. Install the 24V control-circuit cable through plastic bushing at either side of furnace.

2. Route control circuit wiring to wall thermostat and outdoor section, if installed.

3. Set anticipator to the setting listed in the thermostatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s installation instructions.

Installing Control Circuit Wiring

1. Turn off all electrical supply circuits to the furnace at the main service panel.

2. Remove furnace front door and switch furnace circuit breaker(s) to OFF. 3. Disconnect the motor plug from the control panel receptacle.

4. Remove one screw from left side of blower and three screws from right side of blower. Slide blower forward to remove.

5. Install new blower. NOTE: Make sure the side ďŹ&#x201A;anges engage under side mounting tabs. Three tabs on one side and one on the other. The long tab is in the rear.

6. Replace screws removed from blower in step 4.

7. Connect the motor plug to the control panel receptacle.

8. Switch circuit breaker(s) to ON. 9. Reinstall furnace front door and turn on electrical supply circuits to the furnace.
