KITCHEN & BATH DESIGNER
PROSOURCE OF MARIETTA (GA)
How long have you worked for ProSource Wholesale?
I started in 2016, so it’s been six years now.
What’s your favorite part of being a team member at ProSource Wholesale?
I really enjoy building relationships with the account managers, trade pro members, and their clients.
How do you interact with the account manager as a cohesive team for the trade pro and the client?
We’re a close staff here and the account managers are the key link. We follow the ProSource system – everything goes through them and they do a great job of keeping me in the loop as a resource to aid the members and their clients.
What trends do you see developing with regard to home remodeling, especially with the kitchens and bathrooms?
The Southeast, at least here, is slow with adapting to new trends, although there is more demand for contemporary looks now. Another interesting trend is that cabinets are showing up outside the kitchen in butlers’ pantries, mud rooms, wet bars, home offices and more.
What trends are you seeing with regard to products?
There’s a big upswing in color choices with an increased focus on warmth. We’re seeing lots of blue, green, and wood tones. There’s also more emphasis on wood graining, especially oak.
What are a couple of your favorite cabinet products?
Corner drawer bases are great for a functional and logical use of space. Tiered cutlery dividers are also a key option that people love so much we’ve started putting them in virtually every cabinet design. Plus, inset cabinetry where the door sits inside the cabinet frame creates a high-end look. In terms of brand, Decorá is very popular in the Southeast and the metro Atlanta area.
How would you describe the difference between the service you offer at ProSource Wholesale versus retail or the big box stores?
We’re more of a boutique in that we give members and their clients a lot more individualized attention. We set up multiple appointments with them to pick out the materials, review the design, and make changes so they don’t have to do a lot of waiting around. It’s all intended to make the best use of their time in helping them realize their vision.
What’s one piece of advice you would advocate to homeowners before they begin a project?
Do research to see if you need to adjust your budget or expectations before you get too far into the process.
