Encouraging companies to compete; distributing and collecting their paperwork and folders; gathering a professional jury panel; arranging the visits to the companies and allowing the evaluation period necessary to find the winners; negotiating with sponsors and sorting arrangements for the Gala Night; were just some of the many tasks completed during the preceding months.

To ensure the Awards remain well respected Propertync Magazine make sure the whole evaluation process is impartial and every folder and company is judged professionally.

The jury panel consisted of experts from several different business sectors. All the folders containing information were kept confidential and their visits were arranged to ensure that each company had an equal chance.

After lots of planning, observations and discussions, the evaluations were complete.

Finally, once all was in place by both Propertync and the panel of judges, the big night was here.

All the technical requirements were also there to ensure that all guests were able to comfortably see and be a part of the evening’s event.

A huge surround sound system was set up inside the hall with two giant screens placed on either side of the stage for the introduction video, the speakers on the stage, the sponsor presentations and the magnificent entertainment provided for the evening.

Décor and sound systems aside, the food was enough to keep everyone satisfied.

The appetizers, main course and dessert were all delicious, with a fine selection of complimentary wines and champagne.

After all the preparations and waiting, we have finally begun the fourth TRNC Propertync Awards. Since 2008 we have shared this excitement with all the companies in the construction, estate and property sector. The TRNC Propertync Awards take place every 2 years and with approximately 80 companies entering, this year we are proud to say there are over 500 guests here this evening.

The TRNC Propertync Awards we organise, guide our investors to represent North Cyprus and to show to an international market a better way. The 2014 TRNC Propertync Awards hosts important guests and investors from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and it is this organisation that will definitely create awareness internationally.

The jury panel was made up of 30 professional members, both local and international. They evaluate each project and nominee meticulously and the voting/evaluating has all been done transparently and in an equitable way.

I would like to thank our guests from the United Arab Emirates for their participation; our sponsors for supporting us morally and financially; the jury/committee for working very hard and my biggest thanks goes to the Propertync team for their hard work and efforts.

Coming from Dubai, as organiser of the International Property Show, we have been exposed to the various challenges of being a world-class real estate investment destination.

Despite the difficulties encountered in the downturn, Dubai’s real estate market has strongly recovered today.

Uluslararası Dubai emlak ve yatırım fuarı organizatörü olarak, Dubai emlak sektörünü değerlendirmem gerekirse, emlak sektöründe yatırım anlamında bir takım zorluklarla mücadeler söz konusudur. Yatırım dengesindeki bu iniş çıkışlarda karşılaşılan zorluklara ragmen, Dubai emlak piyasası bu durumun hızla üstesinden gelmiştir.

Over the past years, the Dubai government, regulators and developers have all been working hard to develop further the relatively young real estate sector. Last year, the Dubai government, for example, introduced regulations to more closely control the Dubai real estate market, including the regulation of all off-plan sales; the introduction of permits before sale; and mandatory payment of 20% before construction. Also, price increase limitations have been put in place.

Today’s outlook for the Dubai real estate sector is very promising as we are witnessing strong, renewed demand from both domestic and overseas buyers. According to a recent survey from Cluttons, Dubai was ranked as the second most popular real estate investment destination among the world’s wealthy after London, whereas in 2012 we were ranked seventh. However, despite these difficulties, compared to previous years there has been a lot of development and growth in this sector. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, EMU head of Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Şebnem Önal Hoşkara, all of whom made speeches and explained the difficulty of the judging process and the importance of the need to protect the environment whilst developing our country.

The time finally arrived to present the awards to the competitors, starting with the Gold Awards. Everyone held their breath as the companies that entered waited to hear who had won. Gold awards were given out for the 25 different categories, to deserving companies for all their hard work in North Cyprus.

All winners showed how thrilled they were while accepting their awards on stage, the winning companies were not only happy to receive the awards but also grateful to know that all their hard work had not gone unnoticed.

After the Gold Awards were given out, the evening continued with food service as Duette again took to the stage for another exquisite performance of popular ballads and songs.

When we first entered these awards in 2009 it was with much trepidation and perhaps the feeling that we didn’t really stand a chance of winning against some of the ‘bigger players’ in our field. Having been awarded the Gold in the previous two competitions, this year the feeling was “can we really win again”?

Some hard work and great teamwork lead the company into the 2014 competition with a sense that winning the Gold this time would not be considered good enough to us – we wanted to win the Platinum and prove to ourselves that we are the best! We pride ourselves on the diversity of what we can offer and we know that we have a wealth of talent at our disposal; to improve the service we offer and to hopefully enhance the experience of our customers.

We continually realise that without our customers – many of whom we can now call friends - our small company would not survive and expand; something that we wish to undertake in a controlled manner.

Winning the Platinum Award in 2014 has shown us that we are doing business the ‘right way’ and that we have the respect of our customers and the industry – and that means a great deal to us all.
