EDITORIAL Cerrando un gran año

T

ermina un año excelente para los vallartenses y en general para los habitantes de la región cuyo sustento depende directa o indirectamente del turismo. Se realizaron una serie de actividades que nos pusieron en el mapa turístico como uno de los mejores destinos del mundo: se celebró el Abierto Mexicano de Golf en las instalaciones de Vidanta; acaba de concluir el 27 Festival Gourmet Internacional; las autoridades locales celebraron un sin fin de actividades que resultaron exitosísimas entre los locales y los visitantes, como la exhibición de Catrinas en el Malecón; eventos deportivos y náuticos que afianzan aún mas la sólida reputación de Puerto Vallarta y Bahia de Bande-

ras como uno de los lugares mas hermosos y apetecibles y seguros para visitar o vivir de toda la costa del Pacífico.

El 2023 se presenta con perspectivas todavía mas halagüeñas pero hay retos que debemos salvar: es urgente mejorara la infraestructura y servicios de la ciudad y toda la región. El crecimiento debe ser sostenible, sostenido, responsable y sin empeñar el futuro del área y de sus habitantes.

Tierra Luna Gardens dio la bienvenida a arriba de 800 invitados que asistieron al sensacional evento auspiciado y promovido desde sus inicios, hace 26 años, por Thierry Blouet y Heinz Reice.

on motivo de la celebración del Día de Muertos, las autoridades municipales junto con diferentes empresas, se lucieron con la exposición de catrinas, altares y grandes cráneos desplegados en el Malecón a la altura del faro.

El foco principal esta puesto en la catrina azul de más de 23 metros de altura y que aspira a ser record Guiness. Autoria de Alondra Muca y vallartense que se encargó del diseño artístico de la exhibición. Además, a lo largo del Malecón hay una serie de ofrendas de muertos y grandes cráneos celebrando a grandes personalidades como Los Beatles y Marilyn Monroe.

Una gran felicitación al Profe Michel, alcalde de Puerto Vallarta, a los artistas, empresas y todos los colaboradores que impulsaron e hicieron posible esta bella exposición.

Hay que agregar que la monumental catrina vallartense buscaba romper el Récord Guinness de la catrina más grande del mundo, lo logró. Con 22.67 metros de altura, esta figura batió el récord antes impuesto por la catrina de Zapotlanejo, Jalisco, en 2015.

or diferentes razones el COVID-19 afectó severamente al sector turístico a nivel mundial. Sin embargo, actualmente las señales de recuperación son evidentes. El Consejo Mundial de Viajes y Turismo pronostica que para el 2023 este sector en México, regresará a niveles pre pandemia. Si durante lo más álgido de este flagelo la Riviera Jalisco-Nayarit demostró capacidad para salir adelante, existe un fundado optimismo para esperar un sólido futuro.

La promoción juega un papel determinante para atraer visitantes. Su eficacia depende de estrategias creativas y eficientes, acompañadas de acciones concretas que la respalden. La Riviera goza de una excelente imagen a nivel internacional y millones de turistas comprueban que las bondades que de ella se difunden corresponden a la realidad.

Un amplio espectro de temas influye en la evaluación de un sitio turístico. Sin duda, la seguridad es un renglón fundamental para obtener la preferencia de los mercados. A pesar de la presencia de organizaciones criminales en gran parte del territorio nacional, los índices delictivos en la región son bajos en comparación con otros lugares del país.

Días atrás se anunció la participación de elementos militares en patrullajes por distintos lugares de la zona. En voz de altos mandos se dijo que ello correspondía a labores de prevención a fin de evitar que se enciendan los focos rojos. Los hechos son el único parámetro válido para medir la eficiencia de las medidas de seguridad. Según datos proporcionados por el INEGI, correspondientes al tercer trimestre de 2020, Vallarta está entre las diez ciudades con menor percepción de inseguridad

a nivel nacional. Los números son alentadores, sin embargo, no hay que bajar la guardia. A las autoridades habrá que exigirles resultados y colaborar con ellas en este punto tan relevante.

Los resultados de la promoción turística se tienen que reflejar en la afluencia de visitantes.

A wide spectrum of issues influences the evaluation of a tou-

rism place. Undoubtedly, security is a fundamental line to obtain the preference of the markets. Despite the presence of criminal organizations in a large part of the national territory, crime rates in the region are low compared to other parts of the country.

A few days ago, the participation of military elements in patrols in different parts of the area was announced. In the voice of a high command it was said that this corresponded to prevention work in order to prevent red flags from turning on. In the same sense, an improvement plan was launched for the state and municipal police corporations that ranges from training their elements to increasing resources for their proper equipment. Traveling and enjoying the attractions of a place without fear of suffering any type of aggression represents a huge competitive advantage when choosing a tourist destination. Vallarta ranks third among the ports of the Mexican Pacific in terms of number of travelers, only below Ensenada and Los Cabos.

Las líneas aéreas nacionales no se quedan a la zaga, Viva Aerobús abre un vuelo directo desde Toluca al aeropuerto de Vallarta.

El incremento en la cantidad de visitantes exige mayor capacidad de la industria hotelera para responder a la demanda. En este tema, las inversiones continúan a la alza. Por citar tan sólo un ejemplo, la reconocida marca Gran Meliá, informa de la apertura un eslabón más de la cadena. Un desarrollo que contará con ciento ochenta habitaciones y suites, construido bajo altos estándares de sustentabilidad.

La cultura levanta la mano cuando de atraer visitantes se trata. Con la aportación de elementos provenientes de diferentes sitios del país e incluso del mundo, la Riviera Jalisco-Nayarit ha logrado crear una maravillosa ri-

queza multicultural con personalidad propia y en permanente evolución. A principios de noviembre se realizó en Vallarta el Festival del Día de Muertos y como parte de los festejos se construyó la figura monumental de la Famosa Catrina. Con 22.67 metros de altura, esta elegante y majestuosa señora pasó por la puerta grande al récord mundial Guinness, superando los 18. 77 metros que midió la figura de la muerte elaborada en Zapotlanejo en 2015. Este evento se difundió ampliamente por medios de comunicación tradicionales y por las redes sociales.

Seguridad, vías de comunicación, inversiones, cultura, servicios, y un amplio etcétera conforman la excelente oferta de la región. La promoción deberá redoblar esfuerzos para aprovechar las oportunidades que presenta el destino. Se trata de una tarea que corresponde tanto a organizaciones públicas como privadas. La Riviera Jalisco-Nayarit es tierra fértil para que la industria turística rinda más y mejores frutos. Únicamente habrá que abonar y dotar a las semillas de todos los cuidados necesarios para asegurar su crecimiento.

hilipp Plein, el diseñador de moda, está en pleno proceso creativo: está construyendo en Bel Air la mansión de sus sueños. Unos sueños que para algunos son pesadillas. ¿Cómo sabes esto? Porque a través de la cuenta Chateau Falconview en Instagram Philipp nos va relatando paso a paso el desarrollo de la construcción y decoración de la inmensa casa.

Chateau Falconview , que es como se llama, se localiza en Bel Air y tiene 14,5 hectáreas (145.000 m2) cuyo dueño fue Howard Hughes y al que Plein compró en 2014. El terreno costó 300 millones de dólares y por el momento todavía no es posible calcular la decoración y construcción que tendrá un total de 3.700 metros cuadrados habitables. La casa de invitados, ya lista , es un pequeño palacio situado en la parte más alta de la propiedad con una arquitectura tipo «Versalles» y una decoración delirante. ¿Pero quien es este excéntrico diseñador? Philipp Plein nació en Múnich el 16 de febrero de 1978.

Después de terminar el colegio, se matriculó para estudiar Derecho en la Universidad Friedrich Alexander de Erlangen-Nuremberg. Al mismo tiempo, empezó a diseñar piezas de mobiliario y a hacerlas de acero inoxidable.
