Great Green Street Farm A contemporary courtyard development of characterful barns, rejuvenated and reimagined for the 21st century
A Beautiful Location
Great Green Street Farm sits in a lovely rural location just inside Buckinghamshire, within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The barns have been sensitively converted into delightful new homes and blend sympathetically with the surrounding countryside. The Farm is set in six acres of land which will be jointly owned by the residents of this stunning development. This land will be a combination of meadows, paddocks and parkland, encouraging the wide variety of native flora and fauna to flourish. Owl boxes have been placed in the trees and a rainwater harvesting pond has been created. The Chilterns is a beautiful area of typically English chalk downland which runs from north east to south west. There is great scope for walking, cycling and exploring its wooded valleys and dramatic hilltops. There are plenty of pretty villages with pubs and churches just waiting to be discovered. One of these is historic Chenies, which overlooks the beautiful Chess valley and is the inspiration for the house names at Great Green Street Farm; Queen Elizabeth I visited Chenies Manor in 1570. Just 0.9 miles away across the county boundary is Chorleywood, a lively Hertfordshire village with an interesting mix of shops, cafĂŠs and restaurants. Chorleywood station is served by frequent Metropolitan line trains to London Marylebone and Baker Street, as well as the Chiltern Turbo which also serves Marylebone. The M25 is just under 2 miles away, linking to the motorway network and Heathrow and Gatwick airports. There is a range of good independent and state schools in the area.
An Outstanding Pedigree
Great Green Street Farm is a joint development between Nick Randall of The Air Group and Peter Bradley Developments, who have a long track record in both mixed schemes and the redevelopment of period buildings, and have won heritage awards for their conservation and preservation work in doing so. Their experience in the redevelopment of more than 60 barns is evident in the creative and sensitive way that the new homes at Great Green Street have been created. Nick and Peter have a strong team of locally-based professionals around them, including Lee Masters of Masters Architecture, principal contractor Kevin Sears of KSC Ltd and Toby Smith of St Giles Furniture, a local bespoke kitchen designer.
