The Story of TBS Dental
Brothers Haseeb Sajid and Hassan Malik transformed their traditional family business into TBS Dental by identifying a decades-long stagnation in instrument design and committing to total industry modernization. This led to years of rigorous research and the development of groundbreaking solutions like FRINGS®, a patented forceps with an internal spring designed to maximize clinical efficiency.
What began as a grassroots effort of knocking on doors has since evolved into a global powerhouse with over 300 employees, revolutionizing the industry through state-of-the-art innovation and a mission to make dentistry as efficient as possible.

Re-branded to TBS Dental and started distribution with Patterson Dental nationwide.

Built on the Innovation That Started It All...
TBS BASICS FRINGS® bring the core innovation of the original FRINGS® platform to a streamlined, everyday extraction solution. Developed as part of the broader TBS BASICS line, these forceps were created to deliver the ergonomic advantages and clinical efficiency that made FRINGS® an industry-defining innovation, now in a more accessible and simplified format for the modern operatory.
By eliminating the need to manually retract traditional forceps, the patented internal spring mechanism frees up additional digits for greater control, improved apical pressure, and reduced hand strain throughout the procedure. The result is a more natural grip, enhanced tactile feedback, and a more controlled extraction experience that helps clinicians work with greater confidence and efficiency throughout the day.
Precision forged from German stainless steel, TBS Basics FRINGS are engineered to provide dependable daily performance while maintaining the professional-grade quality associated with TBS Dental.
A liquid matte finish minimizes glare under operatory lighting while delivering a clean, refined aesthetic designed for the clinical environment. Every contour and contact point is intentionally designed to feel balanced and intuitive in the hand, supporting tactile precision without unnecessary complexity.
Backed by a One-Year Manufacturer Warranty against manufacturing defects, TBS Basics FRINGS are built to withstand the demands of high-volume practices while maintaining consistent functionality procedure after procedure.

Why You Should be Doing Alveolar Ridge Preservation Grafting on Most of Your Extraction Cases
Author: Dr. Jay B. Reznick Founder, Online Oral Surgery, Diplomate, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
There are clinicians who feel that grafting an alveolar Ridge after removing a tooth is not necessary. They claim that the bone will fill in anyway, and if the patient wants to do a dental implant to replace the tooth, that a bone graft can always be done later. That is true to a certain extent: Bone will definitely fill into an extraction socket. The literature shows that the alveolar ridge naturally resorbs, sometimes up to 50% in volume in the first six months. This follows Wolff’s law, which simply stated says that loss of functional stress on the alveolar bone will result in alveolar ridge resorption. That bone loss is always greater on the labial cortex then on the lingual side. When that occurs, when the patient is ready to have the implant placed, there’s a high probability that the volume of bone will be inadequate to place an implant in the right site for ideal prosthetic restoration.
Alveolar Ridge preservation grafting is a straightforward technique that should take no more than 5 minutes after the tooth has been removed and the site has been thoroughly debrided and flushed. The empty socket is filled to the top of the alveolus and condensed to remove any areas of Dead Space within the graft. To keep the graft in place and to prevent soft tissues from growing into the graft and compromising the results, a barrier membrane is placed between the alveolar bone and the overlying periosteum. This is secured in place with non-resorbable sutures so that the membrane and graft material stay in place. To make this procedure successful, it is
important to use the right instruments and materials that have been designed for this purpose. This facilitates not only graph placement, but also placement of the barrier membrane in the proper site.
The sutures are removed two weeks following extraction and grafting, and the membrane is removed 4 weeks later. Under the membrane will be healthy granulation tissue which will epithelialized with healthy keratinized attached gingiva. Studies have shown that when this procedure is done properly, alveolar bone loss after extraction is minimal, and there may even be a gain in volume.
When treatment planning a tooth for removal, it is the clinician’s responsibility to discuss with the patient all of their options for tooth replacement. Preserving the ridge and replacing the tooth with a well-placed, prostheticallyplanned implant-supported fixed prosthesis. Having the right amount of bone in the right place is the key to success.

secure knot tying. From high-tensile strength to predictable absorption profiles, these sutures provide the reliable performance and control required for every clinical specialty.
Suture needle cuts are designed to dictate how easily a needle penetrates specific tissue types while minimizing trauma. Taper-point needles have a round tip that stretches rather than cuts, making them ideal for soft, delicate tissues. Cutting and reverse-cutting needles have triangular edges designed to slice through tough, dense structures.
Reverse Cutting
Minimal trauma, tough, keratinized
Needle Lengths
Least trauma, tough, keratinized
The fractional designations of suture needles describe the curvature of the needle body, which determines how much space is required to maneuver the needle through tissue.

It all started with a spring...
For over 170 years, dental forceps were all the same. As the dental industry continued to innovate and invent new technologies, the physical instruments clinicians use every day remained overlooked. Clinicians learned to work around hand pain, fatigue, and dangerous inadequacies. That didn’t sit right with us.
We started with forceps
FRINGS® introduced a patented internal spring mechanism that eliminated hand strain and improved control during extractions. It wasn’t just a tweak — it was a complete overhaul of an instrument that had been overlooked for generations.
Co-founder & CEO Haseeb Sajid hit the road — going door to door, introducing FRINGS to dentists one by one. No marketing team. No distributor. Just an unshakable belief in better dentistry.
The hard work paid off. FRINGS caught on. And TBS Dental was born.
Designed by Dentists, For Dentists. Today at TBS Dental, we continue to disrupt alongside industry-leading clinicians. Sprouted from surgical instrumentation, our portfolio now includes streamlined solutions for critical pre- and postextraction care.
