We hope this will increase the customer’s confidence in our business and come back to purchase from us time and time again.

Expanding into the health and beauty market “We will continue to see growth in the health and beauty segment because consumers nowadays are more health-conscious. We’re also likely to see Thailand demographic gradually shifting towards an aging-society, which at the moment, senior citizens make up 11% of the entire population and will continue to increase.”

This trend suggest that the health and beauty segment consumers are essential to TV Direct’s business, because these potential customers are willing to pay more for premium quality that they can trust over other ordinary products. Therefore, TV Direct aims to satisfy these customers by providing the best quality product that offer the most benefits.

The story of TV Direct is a perfect example of how a home shopping business can thrive and succeed in the modern era. Facing threats and challenges that have put most competitors to rest, the company was able innovate their marketing strategy by utilizing both online and off line channels. Of course this success would not have been possible without the visionary leadership by TV Direct’s big boss, Songpol Shanmatkit.

After stepping down as president of Peer club, it was his duty to pass on the responsibility to his predecessor. He had to coach and evaluate whether the new committee team was qualified and ready to inherit the responsibilities of the club.

From this we can see that Assumption University encourages its students not only to achieve academic excellence, but also gain practical experience through involvement with clubs and activities so that the experience gained can be used later in life and career.

Game challenge for SME exporting business Thailand has a tremendous export market; its like a giant piece of cake that every one wants to take a bite out of. So it’s not surprising that many businesses have started to export more products in order to give consumers more choices.

In his opinion, Phairat feels that there are some opportunistic business that enter this market hoping to take a bite out of the cake, but without consideration for the long-term impact. Many downplay the importance of building good relationship and trust with their overseas partner, trust that is earned through offering consistent product quality, prices, and business standards.

“From experience, I think the key to success for any exporting business is to have mutual trust with the clients. We have to understand their needs and deliver innovative solutions in a timely manner.”

The idea of building a strong sustainable brand can be applied to business of any size. Having been in export for a long time, Phairat can spot the problems and opportunity, for example within the last several years he has seen a number of businesses who try to export but lack the knowledge and experience. On the other hand if a business possess the know-how about import-export, manufacturing, quality control, market opportunities, and business ethics, these are the key to a successful and sustainable future.

So it’s fair to say that the exporting business requires a lot of preparation and knowhow. Even for someone with considerable experience like Phairat, the job continues to pose unique and fun challenges from the beginning to end, and this is what motivates Phairat and his team to work harder to overcome any obstacle that come their way.

felt like the experience past by really quickly, because at that time I was already in term 2 of my sophomore year when I met Father Thinnarat Komkrid and Prapol-Monchaya Prakobkit, who were presidents at the time, at a training seminar in Peer Course. With their encouragement I took up president, but shortly after by my junior year, I moved on to become president of AU student council.”

คงไม่ผดิ ถ้าจะบอกว่า...การเข้าร่วม กิจกรรมของสมาคมระหว่างนักศึกษา และศิษย์เก่า ในยุคนี้ คือการส่งเสริม ให้รนุ่ พี-่ รุน่ น้องมีความใกลล้ชดิ กันมาก ขึน้ ซึง่ มันเป็นผลมีแก่ทกุ คนเพราะเรามี โอกาสทีจ่ ะเติบโตทางด้านธุรกิจไปด้วย กัน หรือสามารถเป็นแรงผลักดันในการ ท�ำงานให้แก่กันและกัน
