ndia’s largest Postal service provider wanted to digitized all their daily financial & reporting transaction from a conventional ‘Book Keeping’ system. This has helped them in maintain quality of data and in an organized manner. This resulted easy access of data on whenever & wherever required.

In Brief Challenge India’s Postal Department wanted to deploy an automated solution for keeping track of there daily transactions replacing the traditional methodology of keeping data in files and hard copies. Since the client is the largest postal service provider in India, this was an crucial project for us.

Solution Progressive provided an automated solution with by setting up a server with Windows OS and a database which keeps track of each and every transaction, supported by customized software. The deployment was at around more than 2000+ locations in India including remotely located villages.

Benefits The solution delivers a neat & clean system with easy to handle all their daily transactions including finance, delivery reports will be maintained through a database. This was result in a more organized data collation useful for auditors & management for analysis and reporting.

This simple & easy to use solution was deployed at more than 2400+ locations; most of them were located in the farthest part of India.

The Simplified Solution HP Server with Microsoft Windows as OS Microsoft SQL Database: For keeping & maintaining transactions Customized software as a front end (Provided by Client)

The customer landscape consists or operated with only two personals. In operational terms, it is known as ‘Dual handed Post offices’. One person keeps tracks of all the transactions including selling of stamps, speed posts, registered mails as well as keeping ing record of financial transactions. This was because in such remote areas the banks are still not operational so post offices acts like a bank too, which means keeping accounts and maintaining them for auditing purpose. They used to do all the above through ugh ledger books and maintaining registers. That process was not only tedious but also very lengthy.

Possibilities like loss, fire, natural calamity and theft of that data cannot be avoided.

To make the overall process much faster, robust & keeping data security in mind – The new solution was designed. Another major challenge was the deployment of solution because some locations don’t even have commutation facility (Public Transport) to reach there and implement. Progressive successfully came out of this challenge and ensured that each of 2400+ sites started working without any issues. Another situation which needs to be addressed was to educate/train the existing employees of post and make them familiar with the new solution completely on both software as well as operational part, which Progressive’s engineers did by providing them on-location location training and then evaluating them on different situations.

Progressive able to complete this complete implementation in merely ‘Three months’ of time span which include lude the deployment of the complete solution at all 2400+ locations and giving training to users for making it completely operational.
