Welcome to the "Heart of a Champion: Faith, Family, Football Celebration!" We are excited to have you join us for an evening that promises to unite and empower Christian men as we kick-off Super Bowl Week in Las Vegas.

Tonight, we will spotlight a broad, influential roster of the industry’s notable sports, business leaders and stakeholders who look to utilize their platform for the greater good set the stage for fellowship, connection, and celebrating the true meaning of champions.

The "Heart of a Champion" award is a prestigious recognition bestowed upon exceptional individuals who, through their unwavering commitment to community service, demonstrate extraordinary compassion, faith-driven leadership, and stand as beacons of inspiration, encouraging others both on and off the gridiron.

We are thrilled to celebrate (3) individuals tonight, The Heart of A Champion award will be presented to “Champ” Kelly, Assistant General Manager, Las Vegas Raiders, Local Hero awards will be presented to Freddie Banks, UNLV HOF Basketball, Head Coach Canyon Springs High School and Jorge Hernandez, Chaplain G-League Ignite.

All Proceeds Benefit the National Faith-Based Projects & International Mission Efforts of The K.I.N.G. Movement & Pro Experiences. There are so many people who made tonight’s event happen. Please join me in thanking our staff, volunteers, sponsors, and special guests.

ANTHONY "CHAMP" KELLY Anthony "Champ" Kelly, the Assistant General Manager for the Las Vegas Raiders, boasts a distinguished NFL career spanning seven seasons with the Chicago Bears and eight with the Denver Broncos. As the Bears' Assistant Director of Player Personnel and Director of Pro Scouting, Kelly played a pivotal role in directing both pro personnel and college scouting departments.

During his tenure with the Broncos, where he ascended to Assistant Director of Pro Personnel, Kelly contributed to four AFC West Division titles. His strategic signings resulted in eight veteran free agents making Pro Bowl appearances, highlighting his keen eye for talent.

Beyond the NFL, Kelly's leadership extended to the United Indoor Football (UIF), where he served as a certified NFL contract advisor and guided the Lexington Horsemen to victory in United Bowl III. A University of Kentucky graduate in Computer Science, Kelly earned a master's degree in Business Administration in 2003. As a former college football standout, he received the UIF Man of the Year Award for on-field prowess and community leadership during his time with the Horsemen.

In addition to his NFL success, Kelly worked as a Software/Quality Engineer for IBM. Together with his wife, Stephanie, and three daughters, Kelly is actively engaged in community service through their non-profit corporation, Heart Power, organizing youth programs across various locations, including Las Vegas, Colorado, Florida, and Kentucky.

FREDDIE BANKS

FREDDIE "FEARLESS” BANKS Freddie "Fearless” Banks, a Las Vegas native and graduate of Valley High School, stands as one of the smoothest shooters in UNLV Runnin’ Rebels history. Affectionately known as “Fearless Freddie” for his clutch shooting ability, Banks left an indelible mark during his senior year, averaging 19.5 points per game and leading the Runnin’ Rebels to the 1987 Final Four. Despite a Final Four loss to the eventual champion Indiana Hoosiers, Banks set an NCAA Tournament record with 10 three-pointers in that game. Additionally, he stands among the top-five UNLV career scorers with 2,007 points.

As a standout athlete, Banks not only earned a spot in the UNLV Hall of Fame but also left an indelible mark on the collegiate basketball scene with his unparalleled dedication and skill on the court. His UNLV jersey was retired at the Thomas & Mack Center on November 27, 2021, solidifying his legacy as a Runnin' Rebel icon.

After a successful playing career, Freddie Banks transitioned seamlessly into coaching, bringing his wealth of experience and love for the game to the aspiring talents at Canyon Springs High School. As the head basketball coach, Banks instills a winning mentality and a fearless approach to competition, inspiring his players to reach new heights both on and off the court.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Freddie Banks is the founder of the Fearless Freddie Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth through sports, education, and community engagement. The foundation aims to provide resources, mentorship, and opportunities for young individuals to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams fearlessly.

JORGE HERNANDEZ

HONOREE

JORGE HERNANDEZ Jorge Hernandez's incredible journey embodies the power of love, faith, and hope to triumph over life's deepest challenges. Born in Mexico and raised in Las Vegas, Jorge's promising athletic career took a detour due to choices that led him down a destructive path. From being a successful mortgage lender to losing everything, his life reached a critical turning point on June 28, 2009.

Surviving a car explosion that burned 80% of his body, Jorge emerged from a three-month coma against all odds.

With an unwavering will, he faced the loss of limbs and the slow, painful process of recovery. Through the love of family, prayers from hospital staff, and a miraculous kidney recovery, Jorge found the strength to rise above the flames.

Today, Jorge is on a mission to share his story of redemption and survival. Despite becoming a quadriplegic and above-the-knee amputee, he learned to walk with prosthetics, excels in wheelchair rugby, and regained athletic ability.

Jorge is currently the Co-Chaplain for G-League Ignite, works for FCA Fellowship of Christian Athletes as the Southeast Area Representative and WALK Church as the Care & City Outreach Lead.

Jorge embodies the spirit of triumph over adversity, proving that with love, faith, and hope, anyone can rise above the flames.

REBEKAH SHARPE

INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER PURPLE CARPET HOST

Rebekah Sharpe is a graduate of The University of Michigan and currently works as a Customer Experience Manager at Ford Motor Company, where she also serves as the Global Chair of the Ford Interfaith Network. She was ordained as a Minister in 2018 and has since authored two books: “Millennial Transformations” and “Truths from The Throne”.

In 2021, she and her father, Luis, teamed up with the NFL Hall of Fame Health to bring resources and inspiration to families impacted by substance misuse and behavioral health issues. Rebekah toured with the organization and was given the opportunity to emcee lively fundraising events, moderate thought provoking panel discussions and engage in pre-event interviews with notable guests, all with the commitment to reduce stigma, raise awareness and transform culture.

LUIS SHARPE

NFL ALL PRO ALUMNI INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER

As an NFL player, Luis Sharpe was a dominant offensive tackle for the Cardinals franchise (St. Louis and Phoenix) for 13 seasons. Sharpe became known as an outstanding player on his teams and was chosen for the Pro Bowl three consecutive times – 1987, 1988 and 1989.

After a career ending knee injury, his struggles with drug addiction, incarceration, the devastating loss of a child and other extreme hardships begin to take the center stage of his life. Following his release from prison in 2013, Luis has remained sober and become a zealous advocate for recovery through the power of his Christian faith.

As an inspirational speaker, Luis’ perspective comes from a unique lens of divine redemption. He is convinced that only God could have saved him from his destructive lifestyle and is on a mission to inspire hope and foster healing in a society experiencing the crippling perils of substance misuse.

Luis lives by the motto in recovery lost dreams are awakened and new opportunities arise and remains grateful to be using his platform for a purpose that transcends the gridiron glory.
