Mong Kok West Ventilation Building Facade
Hong Kong, China Project Feature This first ever art façade for public facility wall cladding project in Hong Kong covers 686m2 building wall areas of West Kowloon Terminus Approach Tunnel (North) by assembling 129 pieces of curvy aluminum cladding panels. This wavy façade creates a modern outlook to the building by choosing the orange color with PVF2 coating finishing which would capture the public’s attention. When it comes to the fabrication of metal decorative products, managing the artists’ expectation is as important as manufacturing quality. The design intended to combine perforation of dots and a variety of patterns which demanded a good amount of cutting and punching work with high attention of exactitude. In order to present the design concept perfectly, we made a prototype which allowed the artist and us to make improvement in design and manufacturing.

Project Feature At Marina Bay Sands, the Blue Reflection Faรงade with Light Entry Passage is located at the Upper and Lower Casino Podium Wall (exterior). It consists of a series of uniquely composed of vertical, fin-like glass and-metal elements suspended before a reflective metal panel faรงade. Offering an interplay of light and shade on material, this work of art is 112m long and 17m tall and features 80 stainless steel fins with over 200 glass fins and lights. The upper wall acts as a crisp glass fin and is flanked by 3-ply 10 mm laminated, low-iron glass with multiple layers of shade achieved with blue interlayer and silver acid-etched vertical line. The optical fibre window box creates lighting configurations on the ceramic-laminated glass and stainless steel fins along curved wall. Spotlights at the canopy and cove lights at ceiling enhance the interplay of colors.
www.program.com.hk Project Feature The façade occupies some 5000sqm of space, 250,000 individual aluminium pieces all separately articulated. Viewed from the exterior, the car park’s entire eastern side will appear to ripple fluidly as the wind activates 250,000 suspended aluminium panels. As it responds to the ever-changing patterns of the wind, the façade will create a direct interface between the built and natural environments. It is further embellished with rippling lines from the surface of the Brisbane River: a site-specific reference to the city’s most iconic natural feature.

Project Feature The Wintergarden faรงade is a radically experiential composition, a complex and a beautiful study of nature, geometry and layering that communicates the rich diversity of life. Every panel and layer in the 4,000m2 faรงade has a unique design that is fully expressed through the dynamic, experiential interplay between a considered but expansive palette of colours and a rich language of cutting, scoring, folding and lighting all of which coalesce as a rich, coherent, cultural experience.
www.program.com.hk Project Feature As the position and strength of the sun changes from day to day and season to season so the folds, cuts and textures of the faรงade generate new patterns of highlights and shadows, and as night falls the lighting within the faรงade creates yet another reading. A low resolution integrated lighting system has been created that can change from a snowstorm through to the bursting of spring, into summer and finally into autumn, all within a single night. Rain, sunsets, storms and fireworks are other examples of this systems expressive capabilities. In short, the faรงade is similar and different but never the same. As well as being functional the faรงade is also engaging and entertaining.

Legacy Way Ventilation Station Project Feature

Legacy Way will feature a longitudinal ventilation system to manage in-tunnel air quality. The system will move air efficiently through the tunnel using a combination of vehicle movements and ceiling mounted jet fans.
The eastern ventilation station will be partially built into an existing hill and will feature a ‘moving wall’ façade that corresponds with local surroundings and building design. The eastern ventilation outlet will have the same finish as the western outlet and is similarly designed to integrate with the surrounding environment.

The western ventilation station will be underground and the outlet will feature an innovative faรงade and canopy that integrates into the Brisbane Botanic Gardens and surrounding bushland.

West Keira Shopping centre Project Feature

West Keira Shopping centre is situated on the corner of Keira Street and Crown Street and has three main floors. It joins to North Building via an underground pathway and pedestrian bridge. Lower ground floor contains Coles and the first floor contains Target and JB Hi-Fi. The building also contains cafes and restaurants outside along Keira Street.
