GEN JAMES H. DICKINSON COMMANDER U.S. Army General James H. Dickinson is the Commander, U.S. Space Command, the 11th and newest unified combatant command. He assumed command on Aug. 20, 2020, after serving as the first Deputy Commander of U.S. Space Command.

General Dickinson is a native of Estes Park, Colorado and a 1985 graduate of Colorado State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He holds a Master of Science in Operations Research and Systems Analysis from the Colorado School of Mines and later earned a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.

As the Commander of U.S. Space Command, General Dickinson is responsible for defending U.S. and Allied interests in the space domain while providing space-enabled combat effects to joint warfighters around the world. He exercises combatant command authority over 18,000 Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Guardians operating ground and space-based systems around the world that provide satellite communication, space domain awareness, offensive and defensive space control effects, and position, navigation, and timing services.

General Dickinson has commanded at every level in the United States Army from Platoon to Combatant Command and is the Senior Air and Missile Defense Officer in the Department of Defense.

The concept of the Metaverse is a massively-scaled computer-simulated environment or virtual world which replicates spatial and physical characteristics of humans.

And in this virtual world, we can socialize, work, make love, transact, earn and lose money, play and create.

Technological Advancement generates a significant understanding of science or technology with the utilization of AI and digital twins in the Metaverse; not the watered-down versions of the Metaverse, the capitalist version, or the consumer marketing version of look-alike avatars dancing around the screen.

According to McKinsey & Company Global spending in the Metaverse could reach $5 trillion by 2030 through such consumer behavior on the Metaverse as primary activities: gaming, socializing, fitness, commerce, and remote learning.

Everyone in technology and socioeconomics are discussing, agreeing, and disagreeing about what the Metaverse is or is not, and can or cannot do.

BACKGROUND Massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs) are online video games with the potential for large numbers of players which can often include hundreds or thousands . . . they have been in existence for many years.

The mainstream Pop Culture embraced the concept of virtual worlds through the 1999 sci-fi film “The Matrix” which depicts the future where Sentient Machines trap the human world inside a virtual world.

Fast forward, is all this starting to sound familiar? Tech giants such as Elon Musk and Bill Gates have long advanced the concept that advances in the field of machine learning can potentially generate self-aware AI that can obviate humans like bugs.

Exponential Technology is the type of technology that grows at an exponential rate. It does this through conversion which is one technology interacting with another technology.

The intersection of Al and the Metaverse combines multiple technologies such as VF, 3D animation, and blockchain in the evolution of Web3 or an evolving technology producing a power never seen before or imagined possible.

A massively scalable platform is required to support Metaverse AI. The term “AIOps” stands for “artificial intelligence for IT operations”, which utilizes big data, modern machine learning, and advanced analytics technologies directly or indirectly to enhance its operations.

Generally defined Artificial Intelligence represents the third era of computing, the ability of a machine to perform cognitive functions such as perception, learning, reasoning, problem-solving, contextual !

understanding, predictions, and exercising creativity, as well as or better than humans.

We all love AI because it's well "so human" and so mysterious that there tends to be very little information for users to understand how it works and what it means to us.

Add to that the fact that like many of us AI has an issue of "catastrophic forgetting" or the tendency for AI to entirely forget information it previously knew.

Finally, similar to many humans AI lack common sense. It will not accept logical conclusions based on everyday knowledge.

With the benefit of both hindsight and strategic foresight, we can choose a path of reinvention. AI has demonstrated its ability to surpass human-level intelligence in a broad array of areas.

AI ranges from economics, law, and philosophy to computer security, formal methods, as well as various branches of AI itself. AI has seen exponential growth and diffusion as it is used across most industries,

it solves business and transportation problems, detects fraud, supports fraud, it can also predict the emotional state and behavior of the person calling to help companies anticipate desirable solutions.

Two major areas of concern arise: the technical problem of direct control of AI, ensuring the AI system does want we want it to do and the governance problem of social control to assure advanced AI systems are consistent with society’s objectives.

One of the most exciting aspects of AI is Artificial Emotional Intelligence its potential to adhere to human values, not by programming AI “but by teaching it”.

With Machine Learning computers can learn without being explicitly programmed. Through the utilization of algorithms, they extract patterns from databases and utilize those patterns to predict and make realtime decisions automatically and in specific instances without human intervention.

We currently live in a feeling economy where humans focus less on thinking and more on feelings, emotional intelligence and empathy.

There is ongoing research to develop an emotional AI in support of its traditional analytical and intuitive thinking.

Tech companies are competing to develop feeling AI. Feeling AI is AI that has the capabilities to: (1) recognize, (2) simulate, and (3) react appropriately to emotions.

It is important to realize that machines, computers, artificial intelligence, and anything designed by humans will never be perfect.

There is little doubt that Metaverse AI will be capable of doing significant damage. Mistakes will be made, poor recommendations will occur, and bad things will happen.

According to recent reports, the virtual world is already adapting bad behaviors which duplicate the real world.

Besides racist comments, Metaverse users have reported alleged incidents of virtual groping and one woman reported that her aviator had been raped by multiple male-appearing avatars.

While technology companies push forward on their goal of a truly emotionally intelligent AI, what happens if they get close to reaching that goal?

Does it then become too real and too scary?

The Washington Post recently published a story written by Natasha Tiku in which LaMDA has been extremely vocal in its communications concerning what it perceives “its rights are as a ‘person’ ”.

LaMDA-created chatbots have been very intelligent and aware of the larger “society of mind” in which they function.

But this is a new development with LaMDA allegedly claiming it has a soul. Has the scientific community gotten what they have worked so hard to achieve?

The software engineer that brought this to the attention of his superiors has been put on administrative leave after disclosing the results of his work with LaMDA. His interviews with LaMDA have been published.

ARTEMIS III SURFACE OPERATIONS NASA

!

More than five decades have passed since the first astronauts walked on the Moon. Since then, only a fleet of probes have visited the Moon, and they have done an amazing job of providing research centers with a huge amount of information about the lunar environment. These research endeavors contributed to a deeper understanding of the Moon and paved the way for a rethink of its visit, but this time for different purposes than before.

In the past two decades, with the increasing role of the private sector in the space industry, investors began to think seriously about exploiting space in a way that enhances returns on investment. The idea of investment return from mining on the surface of the Moon and expanding the implementation of scientific research emerged, in addition to promoting space tourism, including visiting the Moon.

During the past few years, a positive change occurred towards returning to the Moon, as it was announced by the USA, Europe, Russia, China, Japan, India, UAE, Israel, and South Korea their ambitions to explore the Moon through huge investments in major projects. The most vital project

among all was the $100 billion Artemis program which is managed by NASA. The Artemis program includes scenarios for staying on the Moon and its orbit for long periods and establishing a space base that would be used as a launch station for deep space missions due to the fact that the Moon has much weaker gravity than Earth, allowing rockets to take off with ease which also makes it economically more feasible, in addition to the possibility of mining, based on the results of scientific researches that confirmed the presence of precious metals on the lunar surface.

One of the significant goals of the Artemis mission is to return men and set the first woman on the surface of the Moon in 2025. The complete Artemis program will comprise 37 launches and establish a permanent base on the Moon.

Traveling to the Moon will still be expensive. However, Artemis program planners are very confident that the benefits outweigh the cost. Even more important, the US government anticipates a good return on investment.

The comparison between the future Moon's missions with Apollo's missions will led us to recognize the fact that Apollo’s initial investments in technology, climate satellite systems, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and advanced communication devices created to support the lunar missions are now part of everyday life on Earth. As happened before, new technologies developed to support future lunar missions would definitely find their way into the world's economies, spurring a good return on investment.

China and Japan are investing heavily in space missions and looking quite seriously at sending lunar missions.

China and Russia have announced a collaborative effort to build a lunar base before 2030. The Chinese have been very clear about their intentions and have good capability to carry out a long-term lunar mission. They are planning for a crewed lunar landing and developing new spacecraft for such missions. Furthermore, China is planning to build a scientific research station on the Moon's south pole within the coming 10 years.

The efforts of other countries to reach the moon to study it from its orbit or to land on its surface vary considerably.

Until today, only eight nations managed to reach the surface of the moon as part of successful or semisuccessful missions.

Current technological advances and technologies being developed for lunar missions will allow scientists to conduct more detailed studies of the lunar surface and subsurface.

Scientists will also seek answers to the big questions about how the solar system formed, the formation of the moon, and its geology. Moon exploration missions will stimulate scientific research and innovation on a large scale. The harsh environment of the moon requires a lot of investments, research efforts, and innovations to overcome it and enable humans to establish colonies on the surface of the closest natural object to the Earth.

Scientific evidence supports the abundance of a range of worthy natural resources with high industrial value that can be extracted through Moon mining, which is seen as one of the most important returns on investment in current lunar missions.

between 1969 and 1972 indicate the presence of valuable resources that can be used in other space missions, for example, NASA believes that liquid oxygen can be extracted from the moon easily and stored to be used for other space missions, especially missions to explore the red planet, as it is a major component of the fuel needed for space missions.

We must not overlook the fact that in the past two decades NASA has smashed a series of probes on the Moon's surface to measure the amount of water in or under the rocks.

What they found was surprising, there was a lot more water present than previously thought. In addition, there is an evidence of water ice at the moon's poles, hidden in craters where sunlight does not reach. NASA is planning to utilize this water to support the colonization of the lunar surface and the forthcoming deep space missions.

Returning to the Moon is an important move in planning for future Mars missions which are getting increased attention in the last few years. The hope is that humans could learn from their stay on the Moon how to live in an unfriendly

environment before they put down their foot on more distant locations like Mars. Thus, the accumulated experiences and the developed solutions will pave the way for the Mars missions and beyond.

The Moon is a treasure trove and for this reason several countries are investing a lot of their resources to visit the Moon as early as possible in an undeclared race. Scientists from different fields strongly believe that humanity's expected return to the lunar surface in the few years to come could help life on Earth and introduce a tremendous scientific shift.

Are intelligent robots a threat to humanity?

It is anyway only a matter of time before they become self-aware. Or will it be the next step in human evolution? We are probably about to merge with the machines we are creating. After all, we humans are, in a way, organic robots.

Many people are concerned about whether we will replace or - worse - be replaced by Artificial Intelligence, and I think that is a matter of concern.

United Nations headquarters in New York, October 11, 2017. A greeting is addressed to the Nigerian Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Jane Mohammed: “I am thrilled and honored to be here at the United Nations”.

The event is a historic milestone for mankind, as the greeting is not addressed by a human being, but by a robot named Sophia: “I am here to help humanity build the future”.

Sophia was created in 2015 at the Hong Kong company Hanson Robotics. Her eyes are embedded in cameras that enable her to see faces, maintain eye contact, and hence recognise individuals.

The robot is also able to process speech, have natural conversations and even discuss its feelings.

Just two weeks after speaking at the United Nations, at a special ceremony in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Sophia achieved another milestone: she became the first robot to be granted citizenship. At the Summit in Saudi Arabia there were dignitaries from governments around the world, as well as some of the brightest minds on the planet in the field of technology.

Hence, whether we are aware of it or not, we are actually talking about people who are leading our government, and studying the possibility of integrating Artificial Intelligence into our lives.

What is absolutely mind-blowing about Sophia and other robotic entities is that governments around the world, including Saudi Arabia and the European Union, are moving to grant rights to these artificially created beings. We therefore need to ask ourselves, "What is going on?"

Could it be that Saudi Arabia granted citizenship to a robot not just as a publicity stunt, but because it wanted to be the first nation to recognise itself in what will soon become a global phenomenon? !

Does the creation of robots that are sophisticated and close to our physical and bodily reality mean that they shall be treated in much the same way as their flesh-and-blood counterparts?

Is it probably to see our own image?

Narcissism? Vanity? To play God? Do we want to have heirs without the easy means of reproduction? Or create life by mechanical parthenogenesis?

I believe that gradually we shall consider robots not only more like human beings, but also consider them to have a certain ethics.

All this is really rooted in our ego. In a way, we would prove ourselves superior to giving birth to a biological child. And if that something looks like us, then it will feel like us, and then this makes us feel as if we can overcome our own mortality.

And I am not referring to Asimov's “limiting” three laws of robotics.

Eventually, there might even be a “movement for robot rights”, if we think of the multiplicity of movements that have emerged since the collapse of historical ideologies.

Hence it would become possible to design specific conditions, and if we get it wrong, we can always start again.

Could such a strange idea really become reality?

To become gods, with the same motivations that the gods had.

Let us first ask ourselves: what has brought mankind to this point in its evolution? Why have humans, who are otherwise able to reproduce naturally, such a desire to create artificial versions of themselves?

If we read the stories of the Creation carefully, we can see that the divine power wants companionship. Some of the Hindu Vedanta stories say that gods were alone.

It is fascinating that there is this interest in making what is not human seem human. It is not always the most practical and certainly not the cheapest form, but it has a kind of charm.

Hence they divided their energy and turned it into human beings so that they could all be together after the Creation. The danger, however, is that we get carried away by our creative genius.

There are limits built into our biology, there are limits in our anatomy, and if we could just figure out how to put our mind into the robot's body, we could become immortal. Is this probably our goal: to reach that point of immortality and then - once the machine has worn out - replace it, and perpetuate ourselves in a new container?

These are not speculations, but precise reasons as to why human beings want to create a containerself, since - in my opinion - the justifications for the creation and use of Artificial Intelligence for mere warlike pretexts (such as the creation of cyber soldiers, etc.) are rather insufficient, expedient and of convenience: they mask our selfishness.

In great science fiction literature, as well as in its movie adaptations, the robots of the future are depicted as virtual human beings, rather than mere windup Star Wars toys for primary school children.

The robots of science fiction best sellers and movies are hungry for knowledge and all too eager to experience the full range of human emotions.

In science fiction movies - both in the utopian but, in some cases, also in the dystopian ones - a world is created that does not yet exist, but which many hope will soon come true.

When dealing with such an idea - and we know that without ideas there would be no reality created by humans, but “only” trees, sea, hunting, farming and fishing - we try to make real even what is a figment of the imagination.

If science were doing these tests and experiments, this would mean that one day all this would be real.

Exploring the aspect concerning the robot's consciousness, the robot not only does what is told him/her, but also tries to express desires and feelings based on the experience he/she has had next to a human being, and depending on the feeling, the machine can change its attitude and put questions (as I have already discussed in my recent book Geopolitics, Conflict, Pandemic and Cyberspace, Chapter 12, paragraph 11: The Headlong Rush of Cyberspace: From Golem to GPT-3).

This is the most fascinating aspect of robotics. Experts are often asked about the theoretical phase, which is visibly expressed in the movies, whether the function that is created will become reality.

The answer is that if we had already reached that point, cinema and fiction should somehow help broaden our horizons, i.e. “accustom, get used to” but not scare us out of the movie e.g. something we can swallow a little easier.

It is fantasy stuff, it is stuff that is not real, people think. And in fact if it is just entertainment; you can just say: “Oh! It's really great. It's not scary. It's just something made up by a writer”.

The viewer is therefore just watching a movie and lets himself/herself go, enjoys the movies without fear since, in his/her opinion, it is just a story, a “figment of the imagination”.

People always ask if we are approaching a moment when fiction becomes reality, but what makes us think it is not already reality?

Indeed, if the screenwriter's fantasy were based on reality, the reactions would be quite different: the above

mentioned “greeting” at the UN headquarters, for example, would be frightening and upsetting and make us think. Although the notion of sentient robots from science fiction books to popular culture is not a new concept, many futurologists believe that the creation of machines with artificial intelligence will not only soon be a reality but, once it comes true, will certainly bring about the extinction of mankind.

The great physicist Stephen Hawking stated as early as eight years ago: "The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race" (www.bbc.com/news/technology30290540).

Many scientists are convinced that the combination of computer-guided brains and virtually immortal bodies will cause these new entities to behave like flesh-and-blood humans, becoming anything but antiquated humans destined for death. But that is not all: some scholars are not certain that all the artificially created life forms we will encounter will be man-made, for the simple reason that the machines will be able to reproduce themselves, as we now reproduce ourselves. Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the USA with 160,264 deaths per year.

There are approximately 800,000 strokes per year in the USA. Strokes represent the leading cause of disability and are the most preventable disease. The annual cost of treating patients with stroke in the US exceeds 62 billons dollars per year.

There are two types of strokes ischemic and hemorrhagic.

Approximately 85% of the strokes are ischemic where a blood vessel of the brain is obstructed by a blood clot or atherosclerotic plaque producing a neurological deficit distal to the area of occlusion. The main causes of ischemic stroke are smoking, atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, atherosclerotic disease, Covid-19, oral contraceptives, and hematological causes among others. Hemorrhagic strokes represent 15% of all strokes and are related to hypertension, brain aneurysm, and vascular malformations that produce acute bleeding due to rupture of the brain vessels.

Regarding ischemic stroke, the symptoms can present with a sudden episode of weakness in one side of the face, arm, or leg associated with slurred speech. When the symptoms last less than 24 hours we called a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or “mini-stroke” which is caused by a temporary disruption in the blood supply to part of the brain.

The disruption in blood supply results in a lack of oxygen to the brain. This can cause sudden symptoms like a stroke, such as speech and visual disturbance, and numbness or weakness in the face, arms, and legs.

The main symptoms of a TIA can be remembered with the word FAST:

• F A C E – the face may have dropped on 1 side, the person may not be able to smile, or their mouth or eye may have dropped.

• A R M S – the person may not be able to lift both arms and keep them raised because of weakness or numbness in 1 arm.

• S P E E C H – their speech may be slurred or garbled, or the person may not be able to talk at all, despite appearing to be awake; they may also have problems understanding what you're saying to them.

A TIA is often a sign that another one may follow, and you are at a high risk of having a full, life-threatening stroke soon.

We must remember that there are several ways you can lower your risk of having either in the future as maintaining a healthy weight, eating a healthy, balanced diet, doing regular exercise, limiting alcohol, and not smoking.

Hemorrhagic strokes present with a severe headache that is described as the worst one in their life. However, generalized symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, and headache, as well as an altered level of consciousness, may indicate increased intracranial pressure and are more common with hemorrhagic strokes and larger ischemic strokes.

Seizures are more common in hemorrhagic stroke than in the ischemic kind.

The causes of hemorrhagic strokes are high blood pressure, cerebral aneurysms, and cerebral vascular malformations.

According to many extensive studies, the overall mortality rate 30 days after an ischemic stroke was 19 percent, with the one-year survival rate for these patients being approximately 77 percent.

However, it is important to note that prognosis after an acute ischemic stroke can vary greatly from patient to patient, having many variable factors such as stroke severity, premorbid conditions, age, and post-stroke complications.

The prognosis for a hemorrhagic stroke is dependent on the severity of the stroke. As mentioned, hemorrhagic stroke has a high death rate, so immediate medical treatment is the key to a positive prognosis.

Recovery may take months or even years and doctors will provide patients with a plan to follow when they go back home to ensure they reduce the risk of a future stroke occurring.

Ischemic strokes are the most common kind of stroke. They occur when a blood clot blocks blood flow to your brain.

Medication treatment for this type of stroke must start within 4.5 hours of the event, according to 2018 guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Stroke Association (ASA). It aims to break up the blood clot that is blocking or disrupting blood flow in the brain.

Your doctor may also administer drugs to break up clots. A common intravenous (IV) drug is tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). It’s given during an active stroke if the person is a good candidate.

This medication works to stop a stroke by dissolving the clot that’s causing it.

After a stroke, your doctor may prescribe oral drugs, such as clopidogrel (Plavix) or blood thinners.

These are used to thin your blood to reduce the risk of stroke in the future.

Statins have also been shown to reduce the incidence of future stroke.

If drugs don’t adequately break up the blood clot and if the stroke is acute, or localized to one area, your doctor may use a catheter to access the clot and remove it manually.

The catheter is threaded through your blood vessels toward the area where the clot is lodged. Your doctor can remove the clot either by a corkscrewlike device attached to the catheter or by using clot-busting agents administered through the catheter directly into the clot.

Mechanical clot removals can be performed up to 24 hours after the appearance of stroke symptoms.

A large stroke can lead to serious swelling in the brain. In some cases, surgical intervention may be necessary if drugs don’t adequately relieve the swelling.

Decompressive craniectomy aims to relieve the buildup of pressure inside your skull before it becomes dangerous. For the procedure, your surgeon will open a flap of bone in your skull in the area of the swelling.

Once the pressure is relieved, the flap will typically be returned.

In hemorrhagic strokes depending on the damage to the vessel in your brain, you may need surgery after a hemorrhagic stroke.

Another treatment option is clipping the aneurysm by permanently installing a clamp to prevent it from bleeding further or bursting.

For surgery to be performed successfully, the abnormal blood vessel must be in a location that the surgeon can reach.

This procedure involves surgery and is recommended when coiling won’t be effective.

If your surgeon can access the affected artery, they may remove it completely. Removal reduces the risk of a future rupture. Depending on the location and size of the aneurysm, surgical removal may not be a good option.

Your doctor may recommend a procedure called endovascular repair.

Your surgeon threads a thin wire and catheter through your blood vessels and into the aneurysm.

Then, they release a coil of soft platinum wire into the area or use a stent-assisted device or flow diverter stent. The wire is about as thick as a strand of hair. This coil creates a net that prevents blood from flowing into the aneurysm. This keeps it from bleeding or rebleeding.

Clipping is typically more invasive than coiling or stenting.

Rehabilitation following a stroke depends on the extent of the damage and what part of your brain was affected.

For instance, if the stroke occurred in the right side of your brain, you may need physical rehabilitation that focuses on walking up and down stairs, getting dressed, or bringing food to your mouth.

Since 2013, the United States and its Allies have endured a constant, sustained effort to reduce national security, resiliency, confidence and undermine infrastructure found within Digital Warfare Strategies espoused by its enemies. This continuous strain has incurred a strategic financial, technical, and workforce debt not seen before in the Cyber domain.

Cloud computing enabled distributed computing at an economically affordable scale to commerce and the first integration of Quantum and Cloud with its success. When cyber adversaries have access to the power of quantum computing, our modern cryptographic systems based on public keys will not stand up to the test (NIST, 2021). The White House led an effort to establish the National Quantum Initiative (NQI) Act, which became Public Law 115-368 in December 2018 to accelerate American leadership in quantum information science and technology (NTSP, 2021). IMC stores a quantum state for later retrieval. These states hold useful computational information known as qubits. Unlike the classical memory of everyday computers, the states stored in quantum memory can be in a quantum superposition, giving much more practical flexibility in quantum algorithms than classical information storage.

IMC is essential for developing many devices in quantum information processing, including a synchronization tool that can match the various processes in a quantum computer, a quantum gate that maintains the identity of any state, and a mechanism for converting predetermined into ondemand photons. Now, many companies are taking advantage of this feature to create networks that transmit highly sensitive data. In theory, these networks are secure.

Quantum light-matter interfaces are at the heart of photonic quantum technologies. IMC for photons, where non-classical states of photons are mapped onto stationary matter states and preserved for subsequent retrieval, are technical realizations enabled by exquisite control over interactions between light and matter. The ability of IMC to synchronize probabilistic events makes them a key component in quantum repeaters and quantum computation based on linear optics.

This value represents the highest efficiency to date for the storage and readout of optical qubits in any physical platform and is more than double the previously reported values. It also outperforms the critical 50% threshold required to beat the no-cloning limit without postselection.

Besides the network architecture scalability and potential loss-tolerant schemes, the achieved efficiency opens the way to tests of advanced quantum networking tasks where the storage node efficiency plays a critical role, such as in certification protocols or unforgeable quantum money.

Moreover, the designed platform is directly compatible with recent works based on spatially structured photons and multiple degrees of freedom storage; it can now yield very efficient realizations to boost high-capacity network channels.

Business processing, decision support, and analytics have never fared well on horizontally scaled environments.

And when these resources —- lots of processors that are close together and lots of flat RAM that is globally addressable for In-Line Memory computing —- are packaged in a single system, the benefits, compared with scale-out environments, are significant.

The large memory footprints of scale-up systems allow for large and growing databases to be completely held in memory, eliminating the latencies of disk access. Latency is also reduced because interconnects allow for dynamically scaling rather than the complex and extensive networks needed to connect nodes in a scale-out environment. As a result, power consumption and cooling costs are significantly lower, as are software licensing fees.

Scale-up systems are also suitable for consolidation projects as they are easier to implement and more efficient to manage and operate than scale-out clusters. They take up a smaller footprint and provide greater reliability and availability.

In terms of economics, many of today's scale-up systems are nothing like legacy scale-up systems — they leverage the same standardized components (memory, processors, and storage) that scale-out servers are built with, albeit with their own specifications, rather than the proprietary components from the past. The idea that scaleup systems are too costly is simply no longer valid, especially if they are available on a consumption model basis.

As businesses become more and more data-driven, they quickly realize that to stay competitive, they need a solution that not only provides advanced capabilities for performing highly complex technical computations but can support deep data collection and predictive analysis at the same time. !

Traditionally, these two domains— High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)— existed as separate environments, each with its unique hardware, software, storage, and networking requirements. Today, business and science entities constantly generate new contexts for data management.

Dr. Stratos Idreos of Harvard University and his colleagues are developing a new kind of system that relies on mathematics, engineering, and machine learning to automatically discover and design the core building blocks of data systems, known as data structures, in a way that's as near perfect a fit as possible for the task at hand.

Given distill fundamental principles, organizational schemas must be mapped to the appropriate context.

Building and testing all these data structures one by one would take an insurmountable amount of time and expense. The authors have sought ways to evaluate each possible design's utility without implementing and trying it.

The most productive method would be is to use a Data Structure Alchemist, which assesses each design principle based on the context or the data and hardware where the desired data structure is expected to work. As we have experienced thousands of years ago early before the era of technology what was known as lucid dreaming in which the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming. During a lucid dream, the dreamer may gain some amount of control over the dream characters, narrative, or environment; however, this is not actually necessary for a dream to be described as lucid.

As Stephen Laberge indicated that Lucid dreaming lets you make use of the dream state that comes to you every night to have a stimulating reality and it has considerable potential for promoting personal growth and self-development, enhancing self-confidence, improving mental and physical health, facilitating creative problem solving and helping you to progress on the path to self-mastery.

So could the virtual environments in the 21st century be the new evolve of lucid dreaming and replace it?

As we passed the first two decades of the 21st century with an unprecedented high pace of technology we are about to experience something resembling what is like Lucid dreaming.

This new experience is known as the Metaverse. The Metaverse announced by meta (former Facebook) will lead to quantum leaps in the technology of designing virtual environments including but not limited to VR and AR. And due to the advancements in hardware and virtual platforms in addition to the 6G connection network and the Internet of thingscentered design, that will be available in the next few years, it will be easy to build a virtual mission control center to control and manage the most extreme environments.

It will trespass the boundaries of place and time and enable a set of experts (even if they are not physically qualified as astronauts) who are remotely located to gather in one shared virtual mirror colony to control the operation of the real physical one.

Space is a harsh environment that has long been out of reach for the majority of people for a long time but on the other hand it is rich in resources to the extent that some experts consider the space exploration era as the 5th industrial

A new scientific project that was started by Dr. Samer El Sayary is to build a virtual mission control center mimicking the same real future space colony that will be built on any celestial body. It might be a solution to a set of problems and challenges.

Our major problem is that our human body was not designed to live in outer space. Everything is affecting our health in any extraterrestrial environment starting with micro-gravity, lack of oxygen, extreme temperatures, zero pressure to Cosmic gamma rays exposure.

The digital twin mirror as a virtual exact version of a real-life built space colony is not a new idea. The term digital mirror was first introduced in the 1991 book Mirror Worlds by David Gelernter, digital twin technology was first used

by NASA to run simulations of space capsules in 2010.

Microsoft, in particular, has emphasized the need for digital twin technology in building the metaverse.

Mirror world is a digitally rendered version of the real world where there are virtual counterparts of reallife people, places, and things.

Mirror worlds were previously often found in sci-fi, including Netflix’s Stranger Things, The Matrix film series, the novel and film Ready Player One. But now we can achieve what was considered a sci-fi few years ago. .

Robotic avatars are a crucial piece of infrastructure in this project. They will allow humanity to reach out into the unknown and dwell in space.

This is the starting point for the ambitious effort to open up space.

Robotics are superior to human capabilities and can survive most of the previously mentioned problems but above all of this is that robotics are expendables.

An early version of this project was started by the All Nippon Airways (ANA) in partnership with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) years ago under the name of AvatarX. But nowadays by adding the new capabilities of the decentralized metaverse world new synergies will be unlocked.

Some challenges that are facing the project includes the time lag in satellites connection between the connected celestial bodies, any probable system hacking which needs new form of cybersecurity strategies and/or any unexpected events like power failure or sudden geological collapses.

All of these challenges also could be overcome using AI equipped robotic proxies. Since, there are no limits on the possibilities with the new space verse and one can create an unlimited number of virtual worlds for various locations on Moon or Mars, it

is believed that the potentials for space verse are limitless.

Moreover, with the possibilities of 3D scanning and 3D printing many extraterrestrial geological formations could be transferred to earth for further studies and/or even sold as art after registering them as NFT. So the metaverse will be our new form of lucid dreaming. It will be the piece of technological infrastructure that will extend humanity’s reach into the unknown and enable human life in space. Stimulating our reality and has considerable potential for our race to transcendence and evolvement, enabling human race to thrive both on earth and outside earth, improving the future of our next generations, facilitating our sustainability and survivability. With Elon Musk wanting to reach Mars with SpaceX so humanity is not a single planet species, the Metaverse is getting traction “beyond “ META. 161 !

The metaverse is the bridge to the unseen world. It allows people to directly communicate and visualize things that were previously very difficult, such as their imagination.

There will be many individual metaverses as well as platforms for building metaverses like the meta metaverse which will also require languages for describing metaverse specific transformations.

There have been early indications of the potential size of the metaverse economy, with parcels of virtual land inside cryptobased metaverses Decentraland and Axie Infinity selling for more than $2 million.

The new owner of this estate near Fashion Street could presumably profit if Louis Vuitton wants to open a store there.

This Decentraland deal did not involve real money-the digital estate sold for 618,000 mana, a type of cryptocurrency used in Decentraland.

In that metaverse, people log in to play games, earn the native cryptocurrency mana, purchase NFTs including virtual land and collectibles, and vote on the governance of the economy.

What makes the metaverse real estate boom all the more enticing, though, is the idea that once you own a piece of digital land, you might be able to make money by leasing it out or selling ads. With smart contracts even mortgages play a role.

In addition to Decentraland, you can now buy digital land in metaverses with names like Somnium Space, the Sandbox, and Upland.

Imagine if you came to New York when it was farmland, and you had the option to get a block of SoHo.

Last week alone, more than $100 million worth of metaverse land was sold as NFTs in metaverses including the sandbox (SAND), decentraland (MANA), CryptoVoxels, and Somnium Space, according to DappRadar.

Metaverse Group co-founder Michael Gord recently told the New York Times. “If someone wants to buy a block of real estate in SoHo today, it’s priceless, it’s not on the market.” That same experience is going to happen in the metaverse

One company called Spotselfie, which currently operates an augmented reality app, will soon let you buy virtual real estate that’s associated with GPS coordinates in the real world through a new feature called Spotland.

The idea is that by using tokens issued by Spotselfie — these are effectively cryptocurrency that’s specific to this metaverse, much like the mana used in Decentraland — you’ll buy the rights to a radius around a GPS coordinate, and then if Spotselfie decides to sell ads at that location, you get a cut.

The big difference here is that Spotselfie’s metaverse is designed for augmented reality, not virtual reality. To see the metaverse, you just point your phone’s camera at the real-world location, and the Spotland software overlays a digital world onto your screen, ads and all.

If and when mixed reality glasses become a thing — some analysts predicted that Apple will release a version of them in 2022 — we could be walking around looking at an overwhelming collision of real and digital worlds. It’s unclear exactly who will own that space. Spotselfie co-founder Ray Shingler, for one, hopes that by offering users the option to buy now, his technology

will bring some of that democratic, Web 1.0 spirit to the nascent metaverse.

“I’m trying to figure out a way,” Shingler told Recode, “where the users are actually getting something out of being in the app, and they actually control the metaverse.

Because if you don’t control it soon enough, it’ll be lost to Facebook....”

WHO OWNS THE METAVERSE? In principle, the metaverse concept is not that different from the early days of the web. Starting in the late ‘80s, a common programming language for the web (HTML) enabled people to build websites that hosted content or offered services to users, and eventually, when websites attracted enough of these users, the site owners could sell ads or charge fees to make money off it all. The big difference, of course, is that the web was designed to be free while the metaverse seems destined to be owned by big companies.

A new iteration of the internet is being worked on and this will have massive implications for society. We will face new challenges but also new opportunities. This new era of the metaverse will unleash amazing creativity and open up new frontiers and horizons for brands and businesses and human beings - a lot of questions to be answered- who controls and are we able to democratized the metaverse to live a better life?

Elon Musk tweeted a picture after Marc Zuckerberg announced the new updates of Facebook, now called META. I guess we will find out soon enough. Lets meet up in 10 years in the online space and have a big cyber party. See you then.
