Beverley Town Council is looking for an Assistant Town Clerk to join our small, dedicated team supporting 14 elected members. This part‐time role (25 hours/week) is mainly Monday to Friday, but flexibility is essential to attend approximately two evening meetings per month and 3 to 6 community events per year, some of which take place in the evenings or at weekends.

Our current cohort are aged 12 – 21 We have 2 ‘full time’ post 16 young people, who will attend for 5 hours a day over 3 days. There are other young people that will attend for sessions of 2, 3 or 4 hours. You will assist the Town Clerk in a wide range of duties to ensure the smooth running of the Town Council. This includes managing the Civic Diary in coordination with the Mayor and liaising with external organisations on invitations and correspondence. You will assist with Council and committee meetings, preparing agendas, supporting doc‐ uments, and taking accurate minutes, as well as helping to follow up resolutions and assist with the successful delivery of project and events. A key part of your role will be overseeing the Council’s allotments, acting as the main contact for tenants, responding to queries, carrying out weekly site inspections, and helping resolve issues or disputes. You will also contribute to the town’s wider community services, supporting initiatives such as floral displays, street lighting, Christmas lights and other civic or community projects. This role requires organisation, adaptability and a hands‐on approach. The successful candidate will be required to undertake professional development opportunities, including accredited courses, one‐off training events, are actively encouraged and in‐house training to support them in fulfilling their duties effectively. We have some exciting opportunities to join our expanding organisation in our home in South Shields for Senior Residential Child Care Workers. RESIDENTIAL CHILDCARE WORKERS ‐ DAYSHIFT, NIGHTSHIFT OR BANK SOUTH SHIELDS & TEESSIDE Salary: £27,132 ‐ £31,335 Closing date: 4th June 2026 We are currently looking for additions to our team for our home in South Shields. We currently have opportunities to join our team on both dayshift, night shift and could also benefit from additional bank workers able to cover nightshift. We are also seeking a Senior Residential Childcare Worker in the same home, and also have positions available in our other homes in the Teesside area. Duties will include; actively and effectively safeguarding and promoting the rights of children and young people, teaching life skills and coping strategies, building confidence, self‐esteem and resilience, accompanying them to and from education, facilitating family time, creating a warm, comforting and homely environment including all daily household tasks and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies. The role also involves the monitoring, recording and completion of all relevant paperwork involved with the young person’s care.
