Technical Operations and Asset Manager Salary: Scale PO1-4, SCP 27 to 30, £38,220 - £40,777 per annum The Green Spaces and Street Scene Service is responsible for maintaining the beautiful borough of Calderdale. This includes maintaining parks and open spaces through tasks such as grass cutting and strimming, hard and soft landscaping, fine turf care and ornamental horticulture, managing and maintaining countryside areas including Ogden Water, tree management, providing allotments, managing and maintaining children’s outdoor play areas, street cleaning such as sweeping, litter picking, and emptying litter bins. We are recruiting for a Technical Operations and Asset Manager to join the Green Spaces and Street Scene Team. You will be responsible for developing and advising on open space policy within the borough regarding the future provision of green space, its development and use. You will be expected to liaise with the Plannng Policy team and have input into the Local Plan. You will continually develop and maintain Calderdale’s Open Space Strategy and co-ordinate the service’s input into Calderdale’s Green Infrastructure Strategy. You will also develop and maintain Calderdale’s Playing Pitch Strategy and will work in partnership with the Council’s Sports Services to plan future provision in line with requirements. You will be required to comment on planning applications that impact upon open spaces and negotiate with developers as necessary. Principal Building Control Surveyor Salary: £46,142 to £50,269 per annum The Role Herefordshire Council are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable and RBI 3 Principle Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control Team. What will you be doing? Under the direction of the Building Control Manager, you will head up an existing team of Building Control Surveyors and Technical Support Officers to provide the building control service at an operational level, including day-to-day activities, together with the administrative duties of the department. Working pattern: 37 hours per week (Mondays to Thursdays: 8 hours per day and Fridays: 5 hours per day with some occasional weekend work) based at the Town Council’s compound at Butterwick Road Cemetery, Sedgefield and reporting to the Head Gardener & Cemetery Superintendent. Applicants must have an NVQ Level 2 or similar in horticulture and at least 2 years professional gardening experience.
