A rare opportunity to serve a thriving and historic Surrey parish. This is an exceptional opportunity to undertake a highly respected civic leadership role at the heart of a well‐established, ambitious and active local authority. The last time this vacancy arose was 27 years ago and the successful applicant will become only the eighth Clerk to Worplesdon Parish Council since 1894. The Council benefits from a long tradition of strong professional lead‐ ership and sound governance, supported by well‐established systems, clear financial management and a positive organisational culture. This appointment represents an opportunity to build upon a solid foundation while helping to shape the Council’s next phase of development and community service. Worplesdon is a large and diverse parish encompassing four distinct villages, each with a strong sense of identity, valued green spaces, active community organisations and engaged residents. The Council takes great pride in its role as a careful steward of local heritage, countryside and community assets, whilst continuing to modernise its governance, digital infrastructure and service delivery to meet future challenges. The Council manages an annual budget approaching £500,000 and oversees a significant portfolio of community land, facilities, and local environmental initiatives. PARISH CLERK Salary: £48,226 to £57, 139 plus London Fringe Allowance Buckhurst Hill Parish Council is seeking to appoint a new full‐time parish clerk following the successful transition of the current clerk to a larger council role. Working closely with the chair and councillors, the clerk is responsible for all aspects of the council including overall responsibility for its two busy community halls, three children’s playgrounds and staffing the local library two days a week in partnership with Essex County Council. The clerk is responsible to the council as head of paid service, for the effective management of the parish council, it’s assets and resources. The clerk provides advice and guidance on major policy options and ensures the effective implementation of parish council policies. The clerk attends and supports council meetings and is responsible for preparing agendas and producing minutes. It is an exciting time to take on this role with many new projects and activities in the pipeline and the regeneration of Tamworth Town Centre a corporate priority. The role includes responsibility for overseeing projects and strategies with particular emphasis around the themes of car parks, town centres, markets, economic development and support and the visitor economy. The role will be challenging and high profile, working closely with local businesses and members of the community. The Progression Coach will deliver coaching sessions, workshops, various in‐school projects and activities for students aged 12‐19. The ideal candidate will have a desire to support young people from under‐represented groups realise their potential, excellent organisational skills, and experience in designing and delivering workshops and one‐to‐one sessions for young people. The main duties and responsibilities of the role can be found below.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates as the area manager role is integral to the effective delivery of Lapwing’s provision involving programme managing a caseload of students while also supervising, coaching and developing a team of colleagues to deliver best practice specialist education provision in line with Lapwing’s ethos and approach.

The role is predominantly school based, however, when not working with students you will be office or home‐based. Ideally, the Progression Coach will be based in Tyneside, and be willing to travel to schools and colleges in the area, with business mileage paid in accordance with HMRC guidelines.

The successful candidates will be outstanding practitioners from any age range with robust knowledge and experience of assessing and working with young people with special educational needs. They may be an experienced or an aspiring leader, but they will have demonstrable leadership, management and staff development experience and be able to model best practice and creative approaches to colleagues.
